I shop overseas, but I don't go overseas for the sheer purpose of shopping (how I WISH!) - if I find something on a trip that I like and it fits me, I will buy it. (That rarely happens,
because my body is SO hard to shop for.) But I like the idea of saying "I bought this in _______" and having the blank be filled in by a different place every time.
As for where I shop: the Philippines, where I go most often, is way cheaper than America. Hong Kong, where my mother used to go a lot, is also quite affordable (last time I checked) and has
great fashion.
I shop when I'm there but I'd never travel just to shop. I love Paris and London for shopping, mostly the department & high street store (I can't exactly afford designer stuff). Paris is
amazing for window shopping, too.
I often fly to Hong Kong for shopping and relaxing (about twice a year) and yes, like the above comment, it is like of fun to say your stuff comes from all over the world. I am beginning to
like shopping in Europe too.
i used to always LOVE going shopping when i was in the UK and in France but i haven't been over there recently so i have to either shop online, or beg friends to make purchases for me and
send them.
Even if you shop cheapie chains overseas you'll come back with stuff no one else here has. I also hit charity shops, consignment, as well as high street and designer shops. Someone *always*
has a sale going and you can pick up some great stuff! I just make sure to know what prices are comparable to at home -- because of the lousy dollar exchange rate its not always a bargain,
but if its truly unique I'll still go for it.
Yes! Bangkok and Siem reap (cambodia) are great. I loved shopping there....... oh and london though that is so expensive I have to restrain myself when I am there.
yepp, probably a good 95% (just like royalbluemoss ) is from
biannual triips to Europe and Dubai i just like having things no other california
girl has
OMG Turkey is the place to go for coats. They have the prettiest designs since its cold there. Dubai, Egypt, and Jordan are all great too. I haven't really bought much from the European
companies because i don't really like how they dress. Everything looks like H&M clothing and that's to trendy for me. I prefer classics.
But I never buy any thing designer from anywhere but the US. I am not so sure about international authenticity and dont want to risk it.
well, yes, i live in Mexico, near
the border to Texas, so most of
my clothes are from USA, but i
have a lot clothes that are made
or sell only in Mexico.
Yes I love Colette, Printemps, Isabel Marant, and Surface to Air in Paris. Dover Street Market, Vivienne Westwood, and Browns in London. I always make sure to check those places out and buy
stuff when I'm there.
Since I live in Europe, overseas to me is the US. I lovelovelove shopping in NYC! Sure, Europe is cutting edge and lots of fun too, but as the saying goes; the grass is always greener...
I used to buy celebrity calendars (over-sized poster-type) from a company in Britain - They had one of the largest & best selections around. I had to stop a few years back... they got too
expensive once I converted to pounds sterling & added shipping & handling charges on top of that.
I ended up finding similar photos (smaller ones, mind you) on the 'net for the best price around: ZERO DOLLARS spent! LOL
I absolutely love clothes from the UK. I pretty much do all my shopping on ebayUK. It beats buying from the overseas website because the items are soo much cheapers and 90% of the time i do
get the items new! Also, the fit of the clothing is soo much better than here in the USA
