UPDATE: Winslet's publicist has confirmed that the actress will not be playing Westwood in her upcoming biopic stating that the rumors are "not at all true.” Vivienne Westwood's reps also denied the claim, “The script has not even been finished yet, let alone casting. Kate Winslet was just one of many names that were mentioned as possibles to play Vivienne, but this whole thing has been blown completely out of proportion.”
Vivienne Westwood has chosen Kate Winslet to play in her upcoming biopic. "The script is going well and Kate will play Vivienne. It has been a long time in the planning but we're very excited that it's happening," said a Westwood representative.
Winslet — note her resemblance to the designer — will spend time with Westwood to refine her portrayal of the eccentric designer. The untitled, Universal production is said to take viewers through the Dame's beginnings as a punk roots designer to becoming a highly touted, worldwide success. Fabulous.

12I think she'll be great, and I guess I'm alone in this but I totally see a resemblance. I mean she's not a clone, but as far as finding a talented actress to play her, I think she was a great pick. Plus with the makeup and everything... fabulous!
13Personally it should be Tilda Swinton. I just can't see Kate doing Vivienne Justice.

15This is great, no better English actress at the moment, although Tilda Swinton already has the appropriate hair colour already, I think Kate's spunk is better suited for the role
16i think that vivienne chose very well with picking kate. it's not often that you see that there are correct choices to play someone who's still alive and well - and i think that kate could personify her nicely. i can't wait to hear more about the project and see it when it's finished!
17I agree that Tilda Swinton would be more suitable looks-wise, but I still think that Kate can pull off any role and make it fabulous - (hopefully) this is going to be such a cool movie...
