You may have been snickering when the contestants on episode two of Stylista couldn't define some fashion terms, but do you know the meanings? We'll find out. But before we move on to the style glossary quiz, let's quickly discuss the episode. I thought The Hills was dramatic, but this show takes the cake. Fashion causing panic attacks? I suppose when Anne Slowey is your boss and Megan is your teammate, anything can happen. I assure you this mini quiz will not induce anxiety, only learning.

5/5! I was kind of shocked that some of the Stylistas didn't know their terms last night...pretty basic if you know anything about the construction of clothes.
1I only got 4/5, but I'm not in fashion. I just watch Project Runway!
I mean, seriously, how could these wannabe fashion editors not know this stuff? Don't you need to understand something about how clothes are made to guide the purchase? You'd think they'd have picked up a few books on construction...or at least watched Project Runway!
2Actually, I have a question about the one I got wrong. How else would you create a sleeve besides sewing it into the armhole? Wouldn't attaching it somewhere else look odd?
35/5. Still remember from studying fashion in high school!
It's surprising that nowadays many people only know fashion only by designer names and not by the details of the garment.
4i agree, tsukata! that's the only one i got wrong. where else do you sew in a sleeve? someone let me know.
5Not to be mean to Anne Slowey, but she has way too much jewelry on in that picture. Aren't you supposed to put all your jewelry on, and then take one piece off? I think all that she is wearing is overkill.
6Bacon, I'm right there with you. I hate to say it, but for a fashion forward person herself, she was looking pretty dumpy in that episode last night. just sayin.
7Well, I got a 3/5, but I'm cool with that. I buy what I like- I don't need the terms!
That's why people hire stylistas for!
8Wow, I got all 5 correct. I am so surprised. Yay me! lol
95/5 for me but I should know these with all my trials with sewing and knitting. I was surprised also that these stylist wannabees didn't know their terminology.
I was also surprised how ill-fitting that brocade dress was on Anne.
10I do not admire anne slowey she seems to try to play the "anna wintour role" rather than innately being "that" editor. I do enjoy the show though!
11Aggggh! I second guessed on the last one and only got 4/5.
i studied fashion merch!
12I mean, Anne gave them a dictionary!
135/5 [:
14I like this show; esp. Ashlie & Cologne, William, Danielle so far.
I got 5/5! Most of these terms are common sense.
154/5
16To clarify about the set-in sleeve, if you hold your arm out and the seam on the sleeve is straight, it's set-in. In this case, the top of the seam starts at the edge of the shoulder. To contrast, raglan sleeves extend from the collar, leaving a diagonal seam from armpit to collarbone.
17i'm not surprised that i got them all right - but i AM surprised to know that there are several people on the show that don't know about some of this stuff. it's like models who don't know about the fashion designers and all that. its' really important to know the industry and details of what you're trying to do if you want to be successful.
18wow I can't believe I got a 5/5, I don't know anything about making clothes hahah
19I'm got 3/5 not bad but most of the question weren't that heard to figured out if you read all of them answers.I know nothing about making clothes
20yay!
215/5.
so happy.
