Designer Donna Karan has devised a genius money-saving marketing plan. Instead of spending hundreds of thousands of dollars on a new ad campaign, she used runway photos from her Spring '09 collection. The beautiful result is below. Of course, the catwalk shots have been reinterpreted and given a new layout. “We wanted to get our message across in a creative way but with a consciousness,” Karan said. Makes complete sense. Amid a sea of dramatized ads, it's refreshing to see something authentic. The runway is where it all begins, so why not spotlight it further? What do you think?

I like it just cause its different.
I love the ads and I think I love it even more to know that they are authentic runway shots
I adore Donna Karan's designs. I'm wishing for one of her bathrobe style evening gowns from the fall collection...
I actually really like it! For this to work you have to get the right photographs and the advertisers got them for this one. And it really shows off the dresses and hangbags. Kudos to Donna Karen and Co. for this one.
CUTE idea and the clothes are cute. I'll buy Donna Karan!
The wonderful photography capturing the movement of that fabric is what totally got me. LOVE IT
Wow. That's a really good idea! I like that better than a posed photo shoot. If I had the money, I'd certainly buy the clothes based on that ad.
Pretty decent. I like them a bit.
Wow, love it
The silk dress is so chic and gorgeous!
I really love the look of that draped back dress!
Me too! I saw it and when I realized it wasn't a staged shot, I was doubly impressed. A staged shot probably would have lost the lovely values of the drapes.
loving the dress
I like that it's different, but it's kind of boring...
