Tear. After a long, hard struggle, Steve & Barry's will finally cut its losses. The current flailing economy has forced the retailer to file for its second bankruptcy. Steve & Barry's, which featured fun collections from the likes of Sarah Jessica Parker, Amanda Bynes, and Venus Williams, plans to liquidate all assets. Another one bites the dust. This one will be dearly missed.

7Dang they couldn't make money by selling 8 dollar jeans? I know I bought a couple pairs of bitten jeans 8 bucks each....so sad I'll be sure to make it to the one in my are b4 it closes ( if it closes)
8good riddance. those clothes were very cheaply made and ugly
9That's too bad, but all the potentially cute clothes I tried on there fit horribly, so I can't say I'll really miss it.

12awww, I loved some of their stuff, but I can't say they had the greatest quality stuff...
13I really liked the Bitten stuff until I tried it on. It was ill fitting every time. Although my teeny tiny bff size 00 always rocked the outfits so maybe they're just meant for coat hanger sized people. *sigh.
14Not sad over it, their stuff was cheap, not talking just price.
15what about the college stores? the ones that were around before the ones in malls and only sold items particular to a certain school? are those going too?

17i think that it sucks when things like this happen. this retailer tried to give a lot of celebs a shot at designing a collection, and i know that with bitten came out there was a lot of hype. i wonder if SJP will try to find some where else to sell it or if she's done with that piece of fashion. seeing as how patricia fields was so successful on HSN maybe that's the next place she should go.
