If I were given the opportunity to choose another white girl's singing voice I always said it would be the lead singer of Deee-Lite Lady Miss Kier's. Seriously, this girl is as white as it gets but you wouldn't know it because of her amazing soulful range. Deee-Lite was a band ahead of their time. With their heyday in the early 90s, their electro dance sound was like no other and they stole the spotlight with their biggest single: Groove is in the Heart. Can you honestly tell me that when this song comes on at a bar or club you don't want to shake a tail feather? I think the video has something to do with that because it is a deee-lighful confection of groovy peeps and funky dance moves.

I loved them back in the day. Well, I admit I still pull out the tape (yes, tape, I haven't upgraded this one to cd yet,lol) and listen to it ever so often. Besides this song, they have some other cool songs on the album.
I always wondered what she looked like in high school. Probably totally different.

5Demeter, you should play it. I was just listening to some clips. Memories!!!!!! lol My favorites are, Who Was That, Try Me On...I'm Very You, Good Beat, Smile On, Deep Ending and Good Beat. Not only is the music so great, their lyrics told a story too. They just weren't some lame, generic club lyrics. The only thing is I never bothered to listen to their other albums. I think I just didn't want to be disappointed, in thinking that it couldn't be any better than World Clique, but I'm going to listen to them now. And I'm going to buy the WC cd.
