If you've got cash to burn this holiday season, turn to Nordstrom. The retailer has just announced its first-ever Ultimate Gift Collection, which stocks one-of-a-kind gifts by Tory Burch, Juicy Couture, artist Ruben Toledo, and celebrity photographer Sam Jones. For $15,000, you can get a custom silk Ikat couch designed by Burch or an armoire designed and stocked by Juicy (below).
What's the justification for such steep gifts? “Value and special items are two primary factors driving retail purchases today. The other thing driving purchasing is when customers find items that are special and unique — items they won’t find anywhere else,” said Pete Nordstrom, president of merchandising. 'Tis true.

I agree that value and special items drive retail purchases. When I'm out doing errands or at a holiday party, I don't want to see the same outfit on another person. I just bought this new holiday dress by Yoana Baraschi that I love at this new women's boutique, Pink Tulip (http://www.pinktulip.com). They had an amazing selection of holiday dresses and there weren't hundreds of the same dress in different sizes, which is a plus since I know I won't be seeing it on one of my friends.
1It's funny that Banana Republic would sponsor a post about Nordstrom....
2only if i could win the lotto!!
3I'll take that stocked Juicy armoire--wow!
4I'd love the portrait...my family needs a good quality photo.
5What a weird time to come out with something like this. I guess the current economic conditions don't affect some. I can think of better ways to spend $15,000 than on Juicy Craptoure stuff.
