So here's the thing: I've wanted to share this song with you for months. MGMT is one of my favorite new bands of the year. The fashion set loves them too — they've performed at numerous fashion events. "Kids" is by far my favorite song of theirs, I can listen to it over and over. But, I don't love the video. Alas, sometimes an epic song doesn't need a flashy video. I mean, the video's not horrible. The random dance clips are funny at times, I like the synchronized swimming bit, and didn't I hear a rumor the guys in the video with painted faces aren't actually the MGMT dudes? I have yet to see MGMT live — ugh — but rumors aside, this song is on my 2008 mix CD.

1I got into them a couple months ago myself. Love it. Unfortunately I haven't been listening to as much music as usual but I can recall "Electric Eel" being a favorite song too on my first couple listens of the album. Listened to the new Q-Tip album last night, highly recommend it. Love him.

5this song and indie rokkers are two of my favorite songs ever. electric eel is pretty good too. i first heard kids mid-spring from my boyfriend when we were first getting close, so it stands out a lot to me. it's just so good for chilling out.

8Actually this is the real video for this song, the people with their faces painted are a guy and a girl that they were friends with from Wesleyan where they went to school. I just saw them in NY a month or so back, they are incredible!

11As some of the comments above indicate this is an unofficial video. The kids in the video are a guy and girl and they made it for a class. They actually show up in the beginning of the "Electric Feel" official video (stirring the pot) because MGMT liked this video so much. I think the video is cute because the girl is so charismatic. You're right also in pointing out that the song is awesome.
