It may be a children's movie, but actress Emma Watson showed up to the premiere of The Tale of Despereaux looking downright sophisticated. What helped her achieve that was her sheer, navy William Tempest corset dress. The sweetheart neckline makes it feminine, while the origami detail lends an off-kilter quality that Emma trends to gravitate toward. She kept her accessories simple but dressed up her feet with black sandals and wore small drop earrings. Do you love this look on Emma?

too matronly for such a young girl!
that's ok on her. not perfect, but not bad.
love the shoes.
I hate to say it, but she looks good. How does she look matronly?
Like the dress, but without the sheer neck and sleeves. I think it would be more youthful strapless.
Even sleeveless would be cute. But I do love the detail on the skirt.
I think she looks great!! I love her.
Oh wow I said love it before I even scrolled down and saw it was a love it or hate it poll. The navy mesh is very unique. I'm so used to seeing black.
i think its cute- the sheer top makes it age appropriate i thought, i mean she is still pretty young right?
I think she looks great! It's perfect for the premier of a kid's movie. With the sheer sleeves she manages to "show a little skin" and still be dressed appropriately for all those youngs kids that probably lined up to see her. Way to keep it classy, Emma!
The dress makes her look a little older, but I voted that I loved it, because it's a really nice dress- totally sophisticated.
cute shoes
Love the dress, Lose the sheer upper part.
I love that dress. She looks really cute.
I'm not a fan of the sheer part (Too many bad memories from the Spice Girls era) but I love the rest of the dress! and I adore the shoes!
That is a gorgeous dress but I think it is too old for her. I always thought that sheer cover up stuff was mostly for older women who are trying to cover stuff up.
I think it's perfect on her, she looks amazing!
i love the dress
The dress and the shoes are great, the hair, not so much. The poofed do makes her look at least ten years older. NOT fab at all...
Oh, she looks stunning. Does anyone know what her workout/diet secret is?!?!?
I like the shoes.
VSugar she is 18, I believe youth is her workout/diet "secret".
Very matronly.
Emma is so pretty, she can pull off almost anything.
Jessiebanana: HAHAHAHHAHAHAAHH!!! Yes, I think you may be right.
I like the dress. I'm not such a fan of her hair. Very Rachel Green early seasons.
This is totally her style & it really suits her. I like it!
I think she looks very pretty!!!
too figureskater-ish!
It is something I would wear and I'm only 20. I hate when people say something is too old for them. I have never had a "youthful" sense of style and to dress otherwise would be trying to be something I'm not. Even in HS I preferred a sexy-mature to teeny bopper-short/tight.
i want that dress! it's cute!
I think she has great style !
cute as a button!
wow that an amazing dress
love her
she looks great
This color looks great on her. She looks sophisticated but still young.
I don't understand all these "matronly" comments. I think she looks fantastic and still age-appropriate. I feel like I've seen her wear something similar to this at another event... still, I love it. Navy is a good color on her.
I didn't even recognize her for a second
I think she looks really good!
It looks like mis-matched throwup from the late 80s.
All too often, her clothes look like they're wearing her.
I can't believe how mature her look is, it kind of swallows her. If the dress didn't have such long sleeves, it'd be more appropriate, especially for a kids' movie. I love the shoes - ah-dorable!
She has style, looks great!
I just don't like the dress at all - plus, it makes her look so much older...
She looks very sophisticated, completely the opposite of most of the famous teenagers. In other words, I love it.
=]
Nothing matronly about this dress! Sexy, sexy, sexy. Beautiful dress.
No to the hair but I love everything else!
I wish I owned that dress
Agree with you there brunchattopshop, not loving the hair.
No!
She is so pretty! I think she looks great here, although I am unsure about her hair.
i think i disagree with everyone
the dress is okay, but i think the sheer part makes it look a bit ...trashy. i saw it elsewhere and i thought, "really? that's appropriate for a young actress debuting a children's movie?" i like the skirt, but i think a simpler shoe and something else on top would have made it more appropriate.
maybe i'm just old
she looks fab but yeah her hair could be better.
