I actually haven't gone to my prom yet! =)
But I plan on getting a Betsey Johnson dress or going on a serious thrift store run to look for a vintage prom dress.
I actually went for a Betsey Johnson (Evening Dahlia) last year for my prom. You will LOVE IT! there's something about the design of those dresses that make you feel invincible. Enjoy your
prom
What prom??? I went to a high school with like, 50 people in the entire school, and there was no such thing as prom. And I was dating a (gasp) GROWN-UP at the time.
its in the closet at my parents house- but randomly i actually was cleaning out that closet recently and tried it on. 10 years later, it still fits! (though its a bit short, i actually grew
taller in college!)
awww jj! that's sweet that you married your prom date.
i'm only 21, so i have both my junior and senior prom dresses. being that the junior prom dress is a lovely traditional Chinese dress, i'm hoping i get to wear it again. I might cut it to
tea-length.
I have both of mine but it's only been 2 and 3 years since the proms. My sister used one for a school project..? And I kind of didn't want her to. I think I'll be able to wear my junior prom
dress again but probably not my senior prom dress. That is if I still fit when I want to wear it again.
Not my jr. year but senior yes. It was HUGE bucks and unlike the 80's style is probably still very fashionable. It was all white, with a little train with intricate bead work. Hell it could
probably pass for an amazing wedding dress, it was form fitting too. Ha.
I still have both of my dresses! Prom was six or seven years ago. I even wore one of the dresses again to a wedding a few years back. Unfortunately though, both are way to big for me to wear
now. I put the first one on recently and it fell to the floor. But I'll keep them anyway.
I've gotten so many wears out of my prom dress since it was a simple black a-line. I love that dress, and it fits me perfectly still. If it was white I probably would have worn it for my
wedding too.
even though prom wasn't that long ago for me, i still have all three of my dresses (at my parents). i don't see myself parting with them anytime soon..they're a great bit of nostalgia.
No, but I wish I did, they would be vintage and my daughter would get a kick out of them. But, I am storing hers and will encourage her to always keep it.
My sister and I donated all our prom and homecoming dresses to a local organization that provides dresses and shoes (and even hair styling and make up!) to underpriveleged girls. I am so
happy someone will get some use out of it, because I wasn't going to wear it again.
I never had a prom because
1) the school admin didn't have anyone to volunteer as chaperones, and
2) they didn't think it was appropriate to have a bunch of boys and girls in one place together at night. :(
My prom dress was actually a wedding dress!! The small town I grew up on was big on the ball-gown/wedding-gown style dresses and that's all anyone wore! It cost my parents $600, I still can't
believe they spent that...but my dad donated it (along with my sister's prom dress and all our past bridesmaid dresses) to one of those foundations that provide prom dresses for girls from
low-income families. I thought that was very nice of him and the perfect thing to do with it.
Yes I do. I even wore it again in a wedding because it matched the color the bride had picked for the bridesmaids exactly. I've been considering shortening the hem for a more hip look.
I designed and made many of my prom dresses... and being in the designing mode at that age, they had all been deconstructed and repurposed by the mid 90s!!
Still have most of them, except one I loaned to a friend and never got back. The nerve!
Granted, they're from 8-10 years ago, and I probably wouldn't get back into them, but I do still have them. Hopefully some deserving lass will cross my path that will love them, and I can
pass them along.
up until last year's prom season i did. my mom asked if she could donate them to a charity that was collecting used prom dresses for girls who couldn't afford them. i couldn't say no.
I had a lot of Homecoming, Winter Ball, and Prom dresses. They were all at my parents' house. I think that I told my mom that she could get rid of most of them...there may be a few still
around. I have not needed a formal dress since then!
If you still have your prom dress and are willing to part with it you may want to check out a cool site I found. http://www.formalxchange.com
It's a cool site that was started by a 16 year old high school student and seems pretty neet and the best part, no fees!

Rihanna bundled up for her appearance on The Late Show and looked perfectly chic while waving to her New York fans. She kept things simple in all black but mixed patterns and textures to create a unique look.

2Prom doesn't exist in my culture!
3yeah
but it wa sonly 2,5 years ago
haven't wore it since, but it's amazing Zara dress.
4mine was almost 10 years ago, and i just used it to cover up a christmas gift in the closet from my husband, my prom date...
5Of course. No way I'm throwing out three perfectly good condition $400 dresses. Love them.
6Yup, then again, prom was 2 years ago. And besides, why throw something expensive?
7I still have them, but they reside in my closet at mom and dad's house. Let's see, prom was 8 years ago and I still can fit into both of them!
8What prom??? I went to a high school with like, 50 people in the entire school, and there was no such thing as prom. And I was dating a (gasp) GROWN-UP at the time.
9I have one prom dress left, it has come in handy for Halloween costumes.
The others
I gave away.
10We don't have Prom (in Canada) but we have our graduation and yes, I still have my dress!!! Big, bright, pink....it's gorgeous!
11Actually my mom has it?... lol I dont know why she wanted to keep it, but yeah.
12Well, actually my prom was 4 years ago...
13its in the closet at my parents house- but randomly i actually was cleaning out that closet recently and tried it on. 10 years later, it still fits! (though its a bit short, i actually grew taller in college!)
14LOL! No. I never went to prom.

16never went to prom ...
17wish i had though
Nope. I sold mine to a consignment store. It was a beautiful dress, but I never wear an event dress more than once anyway.
18Mine is a well cut black sequin gown. I graduated in the 90's but I can still fit in it and it still looks great, so why get rid of it?

20Never went to prom and I don't regret that decision.

25I still think my Jessica McClintok prom dress rocks... and I wore it six years ago! *gulp*

29I never got to go to prom
30Nope, I hate dances and I refused to go to my prom. My boyfriend at the time was so mad at me for the longest time.
31Yes
My prom was about a year and a half ago. But my prom dress was simple enough
that I've been able to wear it at least once again.

36I made mine into a fancy skirt and threw out the top half.

39HAHAHA I just wore my prom dress from 5 years ago to my company's Christmas Formal! It's actually in my look book
40up until last year's prom season i did. my mom asked if she could donate them to a charity that was collecting used prom dresses for girls who couldn't afford them. i couldn't say no.
41I don't know where the hell is it.
42Yes, I do and I hate it. I dont know why I keep it.
43yeah I love it! I even got a lot of compliments!
44definetly do, cost me 30$, was very casual, and i still wear it as a summer dress
