Celebs are not only embracing the wide leg jeans trend, they are also encouraging faded jeans. Even some of our stylish readers are sporting this look. Here, Life & Style shows Rachel Bilson, Kristin Cavallari and Jennifer Lopez in their white wash pairs. What do you think about this trend? I personally think it has to do with the silhouette and cut of the denim. I prefer my light jeans like Jennifer's: long, high waisted and wide or as cut off jean shorts.

DARK DENIM FTW.
I'm more for dark blues, but I think if it works on you, do it! Unless you're trying to pull off 80's acid wash...then don't leave the house.
I like it,but I think darker jeans are better.
For me it all depends on the cut and the top I am wearing. I usually prefer a dark wash. But, there are shirts I have that look better with a lighter jean.
I like lighter jeans... they're just not as flattering.
Gives me a reason to break out a couple older pairs of jeans. I think dark looks better on me, but I'll wear lighter ones with certain tops.
As long as its worn with the right clothes, sure, its fun for summer.
I don't know if it just me, but I hate to see black with light jeans. To me it doesn't look right. I like light colors with light jeans.
i think buying them faded is wrong. wearing jeans out should be a long natural process. have an emotional connection to your jeans! dark is flattering and more polished. they truly can be dressed up or down while faded ones just look like they should just be dressed down.
I like the darker.
I love faded and distressed jeans. They're just fun!
Light-wash denim is a little more tricky for those of us with pear shapes. I think I'll stick with my darks.
I think faded jeans are great if the fading isn't too obvious or overdone. Wear and tear is always best when it's natural.
I find faded jeans to be very unflattering to the body unless you are in great shape. Dark jeans on the other hand usually can never go wrong
I love a well-worn jean. Some of my first pairs of Sevens are getting that super worn, soft-as-butter feel and the original wash has faded to a perfect patina. With a white tank tap and cool sandals...if you live for casual nothing's better.
i think faded jeans only look good on certain people, like skinny jeans. i'm a much bigger fan of darker washes.
My fav jeans are wellworn, faded, fit like a glove and comfy to the Nth degree. I have had them a long time and won't have to buy new ones. Yippie!
For summer these are nice. Not the wide legged kind though. I know it's not really the case, but even Rachel B looks a bit 'big'.
I think I like darker denim for me.
I think that faded jeans are a nice casual style for the weekends, or for grabbing dinner and a movie with friends--but darker jeans are more classy-casual. I prefer my faded jeans for fun, and my dark jeans for work.
not as flattering as dark, but they're fun now and then.
I like the way Kristin Cavallari wore hers, the rise could be a bit higher, but she just looks very casual. I like how she paired it with the black jacket and white tank. Rachel Bilson's not making the faded jean look good, and I think J Lo's looking a little too glam for the jeans, she should have gone darker. Overall I like darker denim better, but I think the faded look can be very cute in the summer it just has too be done in a casual way, because they really can't be dressed up.

i finally get rid of my faded denim and it comes back?
I like it and always have...
..just not on Kristin Cavallari, ha.
I'm in love with dark jeans! They look sleek, professional and totally cute! Sorry, no fades for me
i like faded jeans for a more casual look, but not for dressier occasions
No I don't like them!
i mostly like them....
I like them. They're more casual.
Wicked said exactly what I was going to say. They feel more laid back.
I prefer my jeans dark, but I like these. and, esp. if they're ripped, i think they're great for a real casual look.
i like the way faded, distressed and torn light wash jeans look, but i doubt i could pull them off well with my current body type. dark wash for me, for now!
I think dark is slimming and dressier, but certain colors just dont look right with dark. Like light pink..I have this baby pink top from banana republic and it only looks good with faded jeans. And I dont think I look as good in lighter jeans...especially since most of them emphasize certain spots with fading effects on the upper thighs which may make thighs appear bigger...But at least that awful trend of bleach spotting is gone....yall know what im talking about--those jeans with the whiskers on the hips! HORRIBLE!
and I forgot to add...that i cant part with a good pair of ripped ones either. I hve a pair of lucky jeans that came with a few tiny holes-now they look like they went through 1986 but i love them!
whats to hate? They're perfectly fine, the length just has to be right.
I have a couple pairs I wear occasionally but I look slimmer in uniform darkwash jeans, so I prefer them.
I remember last year when faded jeans were in due to summer. They were all lowrise and flare at the leg similar to bell bottoms but less extravagant in most cases. I've grown into the darker jeans and they seem to flatter more body shapes. I know that being short and small wearing lighter colors on my bottom half make me seem even shorter and stubbier than I really am.
zeldaf, I'm impressed your Sevens lasted long enough to get faded. Mine developed holes in the knees and inner thighs long before they lost their color. Holes in the knees are cute... holes that show your underwear, not so much!
have always liked faded jeans - as long as they're not the ones with ugly bleached areas on the but and thighs...
oops, I meant butt...
