If hair ties were to ever spawn a cult these would be them.
Here's the story morning glory: DearSugar appears in the Sugar office wearing these really cool colored tie-dye hair ties that double as bracelets. It just so happens she got them on a recent trip to La La Land at a store she doesn't remember the name of. But we know it's in the Malibu Beach mall in a beauty shop. Yours truly goes to LA in search of the hair bands and fails in her attempt. PartySugar, who is also secretly coveting the hair bands, busts out her online research skills and finds them. Everyone is hair-tie happy, the end.
And so, I'm sharing the famed Planet Blue Tie-Dye Hair Ties ($30 for about 25) with you. They're a unique, cheap gift for your girlfriends, but warning: You'll want to keep lots for yourself so consider buying two jugs. Party bought three, while I'm still treasuring my one jug. Join us.

Ehh, I don't really like the way they look in the hair. The band's too thick, maybe?
1And over $1 for one hair tie is way too much.
these are too 80s for me, especially as bracelets
2I
3that didn't work . . . what I tried to say was that I
4wow this post really isnt working for me, I
5i give up
6hehee... so san fran
7not really feeling these at all
also...what ferret said.
8I definitely do NOT like them as bracelets...as hair ties, they're *okay*.
9its different, i like!
10I like these; they're so Cali. I don't think these would catch on in NYC.
11those hair bands are pretty much a local favorite in Santa Barbara, CA
12and they're sold at stores like Wendy Foster, Pierre Laffond, and other local
boutiques. they're a big hit here with girls, and you see them on all the "in"
people. i'm so excited that a website has brought them online to share with everyone else!
oopsies, i meant hair ties! they retail for 1.25 here, so they're a great deal!
13they also sell head bands here but those cost $6-7
I hope I'm not the only one who, without reading the description, kinda thought that was a jar of condoms.
14so cute, i will probably be buying a jar in the future
15...i thought they were a jar of condoms too. oh my.
16Ewwwwwwwwwwwww
17I love tie-dyed things... I don't know why everyone's dissing on them!
18freakshow i did too lol
19You guys seriously these are the coolest hair bands ever. I had to buy extra because once my friends saw them they wanted them. Not to mention my mom and sister went gaga for them as well. Oh and they make the most perfect cheerleader perky pony tail.
20they are sold out! where else can you buy them online?
21If they had them in solid colors, I'd probably be more into it, but the tie-dye as is is not quite my taste. Maybe if it was batik...
22These are probably more appropriate for my kid sister, who won't notice how close these hairbands stray towards 'tacky'.
23they're almost as bad as the scrunchie. not a fan.
24i don't think these would actually hold my hair up...it's long and fine and thick so i usually use those super thick ones from the drugstore lol. i think they're cute, but agree with whoever said they should be in solid colors. i might buy a jar if they were in solid colors but think i'll pass on the tie dye.
25Healy Bea Boutique in Phoenix, Az has the headbands for $7 and hair ties for $2..They always have great colors and they sell out fast. They are super cute and awesome for everyday and the gym!
26These hair tyes are very Cali but in tellin you dont knock it till you try it. I wear them to the gym and get stopped ALL the time. They dont leave creases in your hair or pull your hair. They a washable too! A cute little boutique in Phoenix "Healy Bea" carries these. Check them out! If would be worth the trip because the store is super unique and chic!
27I LOVE THESE! I wear them everyday and they are so comfortable. They are perfect for any height ponytail and are so cute! The place that I bought mine in Seattle sold them for $2 each and of course I had to buy like 10 because I was already hooked. I just bought the jar and I'm so excited! YOU HAVE TO TRY THESE!
28where do you get them in seattle?
