How fitting for the host of the evening, Queen Latifah, to wear this purple silk chiffon gown. The regal color and jeweled neckline highlight her color tone beautifully. The flowy cut is ethereal and her dainty silver sandals are dainty. Made for a royal, rappin' queen. Do you love it or hate it?

She looks so pretty, but I hate the dress and fabric and rhinestones...
1I often love how she dresses, but this...meh. I actually don't like the color on her, or her matching eye makeup. Looks a little childish. I once had a fairy doll that looked just like this.
The up-close picture looks kind of nice, but in the other, the skirt just takes over too much.
2omg but that COLOR...gimme.
3Color yes, everything else no.
4Gorgeous color. Okay choice of dress.
5I love the colour...but the gems make it look cheap.
6She looks like Barney in a drag show... I've seen her look way more refined and elegant.
7I like it. She looks nice.
8I like it. I like the color and I actually like the jeweled Y in the front (normally I wouldn't). She looks happy in it.
9Wow, that's a beautiful colour, I'm not a purple kind of gal but she looks beautiful.
10I love it! I think the iridescence of the jewel tones really sets it off...no pun intended. This is one of her best looks imo.
11She's so gorgeous
12I love everything about this except the way the stones are placed. the color is fabulous, and although the fabric and silhouette are a little cheesy, I think she works it. She looks gorgeous as usual. my only problem is the stones - why do they stop and then start and then go down and stop at different lengths? I really hate that, because it ruins such a cool dress...
13This is sooooooooooo HIDEOUS!
14its kinda prommy...but i think she looks great!
15I was never a fan of that kind of iridescent purple colour in fabrics, even when it was actually fashionable back in the 80's.
16I love the color but the dress is just not flattering. The jewels on the neckline are nice but why do they extend and then just stop out of no where.
17Ew
18Who made her dress? I love it!
19i love this look on her and i think that the color really suits her complexion well. she's managed to really find gowns that flatter her figure over the years and this is just another example of that!
20All bow to Her Majesty. I think she looks lovely, and she looks like she FEELS good in the gown.
21she looks fabulous!
22It's very 80's and to be honest I find it a bit garish.
The fit looks good on her though -- I think it's the fabric and jewels that are offputting.
23Ummm....I'm loving the purple, since it's my favorite color. But the style is only *okay* for me.
24She looks stunning. Like a goddess, I love that color on her.
25the fluidity and tone to the color actually make her look bigger than she is, it's not really flattering in the least.
26I really like the dress--I personally think it's gorgeous and flattering. And the perfect color.
I kind of hate the rhinestones though. They look tacky.
27She looks good. This a great color on her.
28She looks gorgeous! Love the gown. It's modern, but reminds me of Old Hollywood glamour.
29the color is gorgeous, but those stones are so random.
30I really don't like this on her.
31The dress looks cheap to me.
i love the style and color but its not very flattering on her. not sure whats wrong with it but just not loving it and i think i should.
32Color's just gorgeous on her
33I love it! GORGEOUS. The dress is divine and she Fabulous in it.
34She's my girl!
FABULOUS!
35Actually I think this works on her but..I don't like those chunky blue stones at the neck, they feel awkward and "afterthought" in terms of design.
She has the height and presence to pull this off without looking like she's wearing a nightgown.
Not something I'd wear - but I think she manages to pull this off without it overpowering her. Not easy to do.
