Lisa Kline Gold Mudflap Necklace: Love It or Hate It?

The iconic Lisa Kline logo has gone bling bling. White Trash Charms's Gold Vermeil Mudflap Mini Necklace for Lisa Kline, $88, is a tad too ghetto-fabulous for my taste. I imagine a rough and tough girl wearing it while riding shotgun in her boyfriend's 18-wheeler. I prefer to wear simple jewels and take public transportation. Do you agree?

I think it's cool, but not for me. I'd wear one of those name plates though.

It depends. If it was very small and delicate, I'd wear it, but not if it was too big or garish.

I would never wear it but I think some could pull it off. I am more of a flowers and bows type of girl. I agree with Fab also....it does kinda look ghetto-fab!

I consider myself a feminist and these mud flaps kinda just crack me up, so I like it in a seriously ironic way.

i think it's funny because it's trashy and ridiculous. i actually have one (in silver, which I got much cheaper) but haven't worn it in years - I was at a predominantly boy's school for 2 years and have been working with 4 men for a year so I didn't really want to add fuel to the fire, but I plan on cracking it out again when I leave work!

White Trash also did some Playboy jewelry and one of the charms is a woman in a birdcage. Why would I ever wear that???

this reminds me of those sexy silhouette mudflaps on old big rigs or on those 'gangstah' type looking cars that have hydraulics! ;P

I agree, way too trashy and, yes, those are the big rig logos even today.

The woman looks like this cartoon woman in E-surance ads that they run here. Its pretty tacky too- why would I want to wear an "idealized" woman on my own flat chest? Isn't my own body good enough?

It's way too sexist for me... I try to avoid things that make women out to be nothing more than tits and ass

I absolutely hate it. It's so chauvinistic, not to mention, chav-tastic, for all of you living in Britain, hehe.

    Hello,
Currently I am on a lovely beach in the North Shore and upon doing some blog catch ups, decided to read up on fashionisa.com and see what Faran has been writing on this week. Lo and behold, my "mud flap girl" which is carried at the lovely boutique " lisa kline" was on blast as she discovered from this site. Interestingly enough, I would like to let everyone know that Pat Fields herself has been rocking that particular piece for quite some years after she put it on the Samantha character. This is NOT A NEW ITEM and I find it hilarious that it is up for discussion, although it is still one of the strongest sellers as it is a "iconic little number" in her own right....(this is a part of american pop culture and she's not going anywhere anytime soon).....She is as classic in some rights as a little black dress....After all, she is a phenomenon that rides the flaps of trucks all over the country and is so common in the United States that anyone from age 5 to 95 can point to her and call her by her US given name "the mud flap girl"..... At the time I released her in the White Trash Charms collection, she was my second piece ever to be made (the first being the "iconic lightening bolt" which CARRIE BRADSHAW wore as her signature "La Neckalce" for three consectutive shows)...I even gave "The Mud flap girl" a twist and gave her an Fashion EDGE by applying a "chic afro" to her...Appearantly it was stylish enough for ITALIAN VOGUE to put on their COVER and title it as "street style.

For current badgering of my collections lovelys, can you please be more current and pick out items which are newly released, not over 6 years old ....You can view and Hate on , current collections by going to: www.whitetrashcharms.com ....(also, i noticed someone commented on playboy (another ICONIC and pop culture topic...) well, whitetrashcharms gave the mudflap girl a new makeover, this time, shes collaberated with Playboy Jewelery and you guessed it, shes now a legit bunnY! (infact, our good friends Kelly Osbourne was just directed by Joaquin Phoenix being showcased in a mini WTC short film and new bunny mud flap is all over it! Look out ITALIAN VOGUE 07 here she comes, as appearantly the mudflap girl is back and ready to be "hated on yet again...." (after all anything worthy of being talked about must be worth something....)

I love a good blog discussion,
    Aloha ....

So overdone. So outdated. Went out of style like 4 or 5 years ago. This is an old trend that people need to let go!
