If i had millions in the bank I'd only wear cashmere! But I don't actually wear wool all too often. I mostly rock cardigans and they're usually blends. if I wear something that's truly
knitted I always catch it on something and then it's ruined : (
I love cashmere, doesn't everyone? But I am very loyal to alpaca. I love how soft it is and it dyes beautiful colors, plus it's more affordable than cashmere.
I am a very lucky girl to have found a small pile of cashmere sweaters at the swap meet for $1 each... but now I am ruined for anything else. loves it!
Wool makes me itch like crazy!!! I hate that some stores only carry wool sweaters for winter - not everyone chooses or can wear wool - they lost my business. Whatever happened to cotton?!
I'm another addition to the "Ohmigahd this has wool in it I can tell oh my sweet LORD the itch" group. It sucks, because I find something I love and to my hands, it's fine, but I put it on
and immediately whip it off and check the tag...yep, wool. BUGGER.
And Talldiva, you're not alone in the dislike of shops that go completely wooly come winter. Come on! Silk! Cotton! Poly! Why must you only go with that which makes me feel like I'm wearing
Scotchbrite pads?!
I relate to all of you in the 'wool makes me itch!" category. Having sensitive skin sucks. I do like cashmere though--bought 3 cashmere sweaters that were intensely discounted this winter and
they're great! I can tolerate lambswool scarves and hats for a while, but they always make me itch eventually...sigh.
While I picked cashmere, simply for it's classic elegance and luxurious feel, my true love is alpaca seeing as my family raises them. Growing up with these beautiful creatures in your backyard
would turn anyone into a fan.
I've been under the impression that alpaca was the same as cashmere. I mean, I'm positive that cashmere comes from alpaca, but is "alpaca" referring to their hair that is, say, less treated?

2Merino for day to day, as it wears well and I like the look, but cashmere for work, etc. though it's hard to take care of.
3There's nothing like cashmere...love it. For a more affordable option, definitely merino wool.
Pretty much every other type of wool irritates my skin and makes me itch. And mohair makes me sneeze!
4I can't wear any wool at all. Even cashmere makes me itch like crazy.
