There are many ways to store shoes. And, shoes should be cared for properly, especially your faves. I'm so not the only one with an abundance of what many will argue is the greatest accessory; many of you share my fascination, my love, my obsession. A few of you also recently shared your shoe storage methods and I just had to show them. Here are four different ways to store your precious footwear. What is your preferred method?

romaniagrl uses the good 'ol shoe rack and stack method. I have one of these too and my only concern is shoes getting other shoes dirty. But this is great for a quick shoe grab or switcharoo so mine is by my entry way.

2Mine are stored like Fab's, in their original boxes, with polaroids. I also group them according to designer.

7Yes, I love the wall but realistically, the box and polaroid idea fits most of us. I don't even have that option. Mine are lined up somewhat neatly at the bottom of two areas of my closets. ONE DAY that dream closet may come true.

9J'ADORE the wall of shoes! To be able to clearly see and be inspired to wear all of my shoes ... well perhaps someday. Until then, I like the Polaroid and shoe on top of the box methods.

10I do the clear plastic shoe boxes for every pair of shoes so they don't get dusty, LOL. I have a real prob with that in my place. They are stacked all on top of each other and the fronts slide out so you can retrieve them. Plus you can always see what's inside.
11I am TOTALLY stealing your idea of polaroids!!! That's the perfect solution to my shoe problem! I keep them all in my boxes but I forget what I have! Doesn't help that I live with my bf and shoe space is so tight.

I bow down to the shoe wall, absolutely the smartest idea ever. I, unfortunately, do not have that kind of space. Therefore I'm going to add polaroid camera to the shopping list!
13I keep all my shoes in clear tubs and stack them in my closet. It's nice b/c they stay safe and I can see them at the same time.

15I actually have a shoe closet- not THAT impressive, though. We have a older (1923) home and it has this narrow closet that won't even fit the width of clothes hangers, so I bought three 20-pair hanging shoe organizers and hung them on the rod. My husband doesn't have to deal with it, kids don't bother my shoes, and I can open the door and behold my 'shoe closet'. Polaroids is the best idea.
16I just have a shoe rack at the bottom of my closet for my out of season shoes and then my in season shoes are lined up on the bottom of my closet...I really wish I could have the wall 'o shoes though, too bad I don't have the room. I would do the boxes with polaroids thing but I wouldn't be able to reach them on the top shelf, and don't have room for the shoes + boxes on the floor.

hiking shoes, winter boots, etc.

21I have a shoe rack that is organized by heels, flats and tennis shoes/sneakers.
22i group my shoes by type and my ugg like boots are in the corner sides, tennis shoes and flat work shoes in the front part of the shelf on top of my closet. my flats and flip flops are on a rack that hangs on the closet rod. i leave my exercise sneakers on the floor so it can motivate me when i get home to hit the treadmill or stationary bike!

24i bought a bookcase from Ikea (the Billy Bookcase with frosted doors) and that's where I keep my shoes! It's great cuz you can add shelves and adjust them to the height of your shoes.

26OMG A WALL OF SHOES. oh i wish. but i live with my parents and am going away to college and there's no chance for a wall haha...i stack them in two dresser drawers and i have these old stackable crate things in my closet. i tend to forget old shoes and wear the same ones over and over again, sadly. and i don't have enough boxes to do the polaroid thing, which is a great idea, might i add.
