Feast your eyes on this Alexander Wang Cutout Sweater ($595). This baggy, slashed sweater just hit the racks a couple weeks ago and is already sold out at some stores. The '80s-inspired cut is daring and I like the marled knit texture. If money weren't an issue, would you buy this wonderful Wang creation?

No!
1I'm sorry, but even if I found this rag at a Goodwill for $5 I wouldn't touch it. It's hideous! I'm so surprised sometimes at what designers think is fashionable and appalled by the outrageous prices they charge for them.
2i just... i just...no... ick.
3That's just awful.
4I can cut it up myself thank you.
5Ridiculous!
6LOL! Who on Earth would buy this?!
7interesting that the poll shows that people hate this... everyone else in the fashion/blog world loves it!
8It looks like something you'd see at a Palm Beach retirement home. And can we please stop with leggings as pants?!
9Gimme a break, this is ridiculous!
10that is some of the ugliest S^@% i have ever seen.
11Ugly with a capital U. Anyone who spends $600 on this should be shot.
12I love it. I'm also probably older than most of you. It reminds me of the Yohji Yamamoto stuff Kim Basinger wore in 9 1/2 Weeks. Very cool and one of the few trends I did the first time around that I'd be willing to live through again.
13whatever look they were going for. they missed. that is so gross
14why??? why did he create this??
15That is a heinous sweater.
16ewwww!
17it's see through...
18I guess I'm the minority here but I love it. I wouldn't pay $600 dollars for it but I can see why you would if you had the money.
19If I wanted to be a hobo with style. ..actually not even.
20Sold out b/c there were only 5 made and they actually FOUND 5 scapegoats?
21I don't think so. That looks like it got into a bad fight with a pair of lawn shears.
22
Is this a joke?! I would NEVER wear this unless I was paid, like $200!
23AAAAAAAAAAAAKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!
DISASTER.
24Hideous!
25It's too nineties without adding anything new.
26lol, no!
27It would look good if you played with the proportions a bit... like say pairing it with some black skinny jeans or something of the like.
28angelinemarie, You are totally right. Because of that I find myself coming to this site less and less often than I use to.

30I may have worn it in the 80's but not now...
31Love it - sooo old-school... But the price is ridiculious. My mom could make me this for free... if I was a teenager:)
32i love it... but now on your model.
33i like it on her... http://preview.tinyurl.com/d2ssm7
PLUS she made hers herself
i love it... but now on your model.
34i like it on her... http://preview.tinyurl.com/d2ssm7

really?.. i mean .. really????? .. it is a sweater!!!!!!!!! ..... oh gosh ja
35This looks like something Lindsay Lohan would wear. Gag me.
36Horrible!
37If the hem/sleeves ends were a little tighter, i think i could actually pull this off. although they're not my absolute favorite pieces, whenever i wear a big crazy sweater like this (but usually from the guys' section) with skinnies, everyone i know compliments me, from well-dressed chicks on the street to the cute but fashion-clueless boys at school. this sweater's looks as a whole might be a little bit much though.
38That thing is hideous. I'm not one for slouchy sweaters anyway and the cutouts are just awful.
39I am pretty much the only person with the following comment...
40I love it. I want it. Can't afford it. I would not wear it with leggings; more like a pair of black skinny jeans and boots.
um, no. hideous. and for $600?! sorry, i'll cut my own sweaters if i was into that "trend." some trends need to die.
41I wouldn't wear this or even own it if I was paid $595 dollars - it looks like something you find in a trash can. just because something is in fashion, or "everyone else in the fashion/blog world" loves something, doesn't mean it is good - obviously this is an exception...
42I can so imagine Mary-Kate in this..
43I actually don't mind it, probably would wear it. Shouldn't knock it down until you try it, I mean it's different but I like different sometimes, it's good.
44I don't like it.
45I remember seeing one of those on a family photograph from 1988. Back then, it didn't hang so loosely, though, but covered the huge bust of my great auntie. (Without the see-through-effect, obviously - or shall I say, thankfully?)
46I mean, come on, this is ghastly. Even you "fashion-forwards" out there must admit: Just because a designer did it, it doesn't mean it's wonderful all of a sudden.
I absolutely
it. I loved the whole S/S 09 Wang collection. Click in this link http://www.fashiontoast.com/2009/01/net-worth.html , the majority of you
might change their minds about it when you'll see this
Rumi looks amazing in it
47This revivalism has to stop. I was already alive in the 80s and let me tell you there was some embarrassing horrible fashion there that should really stay there. This is not fashion forward, this is "running out of ideas". This is not even flattering on the model, and not even the beautiful Rumi can make this look "amazing".
There's nothing to get, it's an overpriced, overated unflattering ugly sweater, but it's guaranteed to make people notice you, and maybe that's the whole point.
48We put mothballs in the closet to AVOID this look, people...
49Some fashion...some fashion needs to sign a Do Not Resucitate order. More for our sake than it's own.
