Saks knows wearing the latest five-inch platforms to your job isn't the most work-appropriate. That's why they've come up with a new department, dubbed WEAR, specifically catering to the stylish working woman. It's filled with hip, everyday clothes boasting a load of popular contemporary brands such as Elie Tahari, Tory Burch, M Missoni, and DKNY, to name a few.
“There has been an underserved market of style-conscious working women, maturing contemporary customers, and women who pay attention to fashion and want to integrate it into their lives in a sophisticated way,” said Joseph Boitano of Saks. Think of it as runway meets real life. Awesome. Keep your eyes peeled for its Spring debut across the country!

That featured picture is very June Cleaver, pass.
1that dress is adorable, but surely way out of my "working woman" price-range
2I ADORE that dress that's featured!
3June Cleaver had great style!
That dress is lovely.
4Uhh...someone should call Saks and let them know JCrew has been doing this for years and getting more creative and unique every year while maintaining the same awesome prices.
5During this recession, who has the money for any fashion less substantial than workaday casual? Kudos to Saks and J. Crew for getting hip to retail trends. Dubai is trying to dump off Barneys because it finally realized that few are willing to shell out $300 for some Marc Jacobs t-shirt when they're unemployed and subsisting on ramen and doctors office mints. This article talks about J. Crew's stock bump thanks in part to the trend towards practical fashion: http://is.gd/inRM
6could def get the same classy workplace appropriate style anywhere else for less
7I'm actually pretty excited about this. Any chance that I can get more options in my shopping is always appreciated. Yay for Spring!
8That featured look as a whole is AMAZING! Wow... so cute, classic, and chic.
9I think that dress is so cute! Very '50s, but definitely classic and chic like you said, Tulleandtea.
10short skirts and princess dresses are not work appropriate for any woman with a career lucrative enough to be shopping at Saks.
11Hmmm...I love the concept--not everyone can dress like a '90's hooker every day (not that I don't love dressing like a '90's hooker, but I do have a corporate 9-to-5 and shredded jeans a la Balmain just won't do for the office)--but these looks seem a bit staid.
