When we first found out Ashley and Mary-Kate Olsen were to create a shoe line with Steve Madden, we were elated with the thought of buying funky footwear at an affordable price. We like the Victorian meets dominatrix style, seen left, but the prices are far from desirable. The collection is set to retail from $195 to $500, which is unusually high since Steve Madden offerings typically range from $70 to $250. The line is slated to hit high-end stores in March; are you still interested in their shoes?

I really like those heels that look like there are buttons down the back. But unless these shoes go on sale for under $100, I won't be buying them.
I really like them and if the quality is high, I'll pay up to $300 for a pair.

I like them, but I don't spend that much on shoes.
Man! Those shoes are hot...but the prices are a bit high especially when you take into consideration the current economic crisis going on. I'm not sure how that's going to work for the line.
If the prices are raised because they are made better, as in better comfort, then I am in. I like to pay for quality. That way they are an investment piece. But that being said there is nothing worse then investing in a product that falls apart or that you can't walk in. We'll just have to wait and see how these shoes hold up.
Zivanod same here!
I was never interested
I'm surprised that Steve Madden ok'ed those steep prices. Such a disappointment.
Not with economics right now. On too strict of a budget, and I'd rather buy two pairs of regular Steve Madden's for the price of one of those. They are cute. Let's see them go on sale. I'm stunned at those prices right now.
I'd love to, but I don't see myself spending that much $$ on a pair of shoes anytime soon.
I wouldn't buy either of those pairs, but might consider it for cuter shoes.
I like the shoes, but I wouldn't pay that much for Steve Madden. The soles are plastic! Wonder if it will be the same way with E&J.
i don't understand how these people STILL don't understand that the majority of women can't afford $500 shoes.
Simple. They could care less. Someone will pay, and if there's sufficient someones (either people who are fiscally cushy or irresponsible, if you ask me) that spring for it, it works.
The Olsens see themselves as moguls now, not the tween entertainers they used to be. So they're not concerned about their buyers' price points.
I don't get it, how are those shoes attractive? Is there better looking designs that I just haven't seen?
I like the shoes but wouldn't pay that price. They'd have to be $100 or less.
I really hate MK & A, so I would never support them, especially if the rest of their products are as ugly as these...
i luv both e&j and luv steve madden. i will probably buy.
steve madden shoes are such bad quality! Bad for the ankles, and they fall apart. I certainly wouldn't pay $500 for crap shoes, no matter how cute they are.
why are they sooo expensive?
I like the black heels, but for some reason, Steve Madden leather always seems hard and rough on my feet. I had a pair blister my feet so bad one day that I had to leave work, head to the GAP, buy some socks and flip flops just to make it through the day. Won't be buying.
Aww dub, that stinks! Don't you hate it when that happens and you really like the shoes. I feel like its a love/hate with some of mine.
I just spend $40 on two pairs of clearance shoes at dillard's last night, so no, unless they go on 80% off I probably won't be buying these.
Love the heels... but no so much the price. Shame
i don't know - i think that although a lot of the time i want the hot styles w/o paying the high prices, but i don't want to necessarily get the low budget version. these though are really cool - and interestingly enough i can imagine either MK or A wearing them.
i can't help it - not a fan of the girls, but their line is awesome, i'm mildly obsessed and working on collecting the whole thing. somehow those tiny little girls managed to create something that fits me - and i am decidedly not tiny. the 500 dollar end is a little high, but somewhere in the middle i could/would do.
