I used to dress up, I still do it to some extent when flying short distances, but anything over 4 hours I go for comfort, that usually means my rawsilk thai-fishermans pants, cotten longsleve
tshirt, cahsmere sweeter and pashmina scarf (that dobbles as blanket), plus trainers.
And no makeup, applying lotion to my hands and face alll the time and drinking loads of water.
Its best to have just colored eyelashes and brows and some suntanning lotion, before going, then I look less pale.
Its a great idea to dress up for a flight. I used to work for an airline, and the people who were bumped up to first class when the plane was full were the ones who were dressed up.
I always dress nicely, but not necessarily dressed up. I can't imagine dragging luggage through the airport in heels. But I would never show up on a flight in sweats or jeans, either.
i dont wear pjs on the plane but i go for jeans and a hoodie. nice and comfy! and i always ALWAYS am wearing makeup..not a whole production since it's just a flight. probably some blush,
mascara, and a little eyeliner. just enough to look fresh and polished
I have to adhere to a dress code when flying, because I go non-revenue and have to "represent the airline." They let you wear jeans and above but no sweats, t-shirts, non-dressy tank-tops,
shorts, hoochie-mama clothes, thong flip-flops, or most open-toe shoes.
Sometimes I'm all about the jeans and blouse, but most of the time I'm flying to see my boyfriance and like to go all out to impress him (because the rest of the weekend, I become one of the
boys and become anything but dressy).
I'm on a layover at the airport right now with no boy to impress and greatly regretting wearing this dress...
I've met some very interesting people while travelling. Even when I was backpacking, I wore a travel LBD on the plane. Often, it's more comfortable than many "comfortable" clothes. It's
important to me that I represent myself well when I travel.
wow...i had no idea so many people dressed up. i'm sure as hell not getting dressed up for a southwest flight from tampa to providence to visit family...but i might look cuter if i was going
from tampa to LAX or HNL! still, i usually wear jeans, a tank and a cute but way-too-expensive hoodie and flip flops.
NOOO...I already have another half so don't gotta worry about meeting someone in the air....plus sitting in one place for however long...i need to be comfortable....! I rather spend time to
change rit after I get off the plane...
yeah, i'd dress up. you never know who you'll meet! i always make a new friend on a plane. and not love interests. I often try to avoid conversations, but then i meet someone cool and am glad
they struck one up.
I do a little bit. I like to look cute with the hair and jewelry, you never know who you are going to meet on a Southwest flight. One time I had a fab red wrap dress, cute heels and curled
hair. Man! I got the looks strutting my stuff in the airport. I loved it!
I'm not usually a snob, but I don't want to sit crammed in next to someone wearing daisy dukes and a wife beater. I don't care that it's comfortable, have some self-respect and respect for
others.
There's dressing up - and dressing nicely. Jeans, ballet flats and a cute tee and lip gloss are just as comfortable as your ratty old sweatpants. You don't have to look like a movie star, but
you should look like you make some effort. If I can do it on a red eye from NYC to Dublin, people can do it for a three hour flight in the middle of the day.
I look at all these people flying looking like they just rolled out of bed, and I think, no wonder the rest of the world hates Americans.
I try and dress nicely to the airport but usually towards the beginning of the flight I'll throw on a sweatshirt or something because I usually fly at night. When we're landing I take the
sweatshirt off and try to look nice. I think if I flew more often in the daytime I would probably stay dressed nicelly.
lmao maybe it is because i've been with the same guy for 6 years but i really don't care who i am going to meet on a southwest flight home to visit family in Providence, and i try to avoid
conversations at all costs! on a vacation to CA or HI, that's another story...I always at least look cute and neat on any flight but comfort is #1, that's all I am saying...but I definitely
don't care who i am going to meet or not meet.
I ALWAYS dress up to fly. But that's just the way I was brought up. The only time I would fly as a kid was to go see relatives, so my mom would make me dress up, so I guess it was embedded in
my mind at an early age to look nice when catching a plane.
usually i want to be comfortable. if i'm seeing someone i haven't seen for a long time right when i get off the plane, i will maybe dress up or i will change in the bathroom.
I hate flying and I typically try and knock it out for first thing in the morning. So I have that rolled out of bed, threw on something comfy, and knotted my hair up look!
i don't really dress up, but i'm usually presentable...i.e. my trusted j. brand skinnies, ballet flats, and a cute top and bag. sometimes i'll wear heels depending on how much walking i'm
gonna be doing, but not usually. i'd never be caught dead in an airport in sweats or something though.
I would never wear sweats or flip-flops in public anyway- but my flight outfits usually consist of jeans and a t-shirt. ALWAYS with ballet flats (they're all I wear anyway) and always with my
hair and makeup done. That's how I present myself normally though, so I don't feel like I'm "dressing up" by any means.
I always dress up for a flight for a variety of reasons. My parents always made sure I was dressed to a T when I was a young flyer. One of my aunts was a flight attendant and that is how she flew and I wanted to be like her,
so I would get all cute. She also told me about all of the perks you get if you dress nicely. Now my husband works for an airline and we fly "non-rev" which requires it.
my aunt is a flight attendant, too, and flying stand-by on her companion pass, you never know if you're going to be bumped to first or business! plus, you're representing the airline to an
extent, so nice dress is required!
I dress nice but exactly dressed up. I usually put a pair of heels or boots in my carry on so I can wear UGGS on the flight then change before we land ....
I always try to look cute but that doesn't mean that I'm not comfortable. I could wear a long jersey dress and be just as comfortable as I would be in sweats.
Depends if I feel like it, or where I'm going, or who I'm going with. I'm only 16, so it's not a biggie if I dress down.
I used to wear sweats and stuff when I was younger though. Like that trip to Italy when I was 13 - the outfits were embarrassing.
Now, generally, t-shirt and jeans (loose for longer flights) and a hoodie with sneakers. To dress up, right below the knee black leather flat boots (winter places) and a dressier jacket. I
might wear a long boho skirt to tropical places, or a loose dress with gladiator sandals. I bring stuff like a hat or a scarf to mix my look up if I get bored with it, so I usually look
different from before boarding and after I get off.
Make-up wise, mascara, eyeliner and Bene-tint usually does the trick.
never. although i'm always flying 3000 miles to and from school, so i refuse to dress up for a 2 hr trip to the airport/wait for plane and 6 hr plane ride.
It would have to depend on the meeting that I would be going to or who I would be having the meeting with. Otherwise I would dress down comfortably and have my clothes with me.

Nicky Hilton was spotted leaving The Ivy restaurant after a day of shopping with sister Paris. Her casual yet stylish outfit, which consisted of skinny jeans, tall black boots and an Alice + Olivia military blazer, was perfect for the occasion.

Allways you don't know who you'll meet at the airport or on the plane.

5Nope - I wear my most comfy jeans, a tank and a hoodie, and flip-flops or ballet flats.
6depends on my mood.
7I'm going on a flight today and I think I'm wearing jeans, wedges, v-neck tee and a scarf.
8i cant imagine why people would get dressed up for a flight or say no jeans or sweats -

11I dress nice but not up. But I don't ever talk to anyone!
12wow...i had no idea so many people dressed up. i'm sure as hell not getting dressed up for a southwest flight from tampa to providence to visit family...but i might look cuter if i was going from tampa to LAX or HNL! still, i usually wear jeans, a tank and a cute but way-too-expensive hoodie and flip flops.

14comfort but with a certain dregree of style
15i also carry a spare outfit in my carryon
i have been upgraded to first class, and the check-in people have actually commented on my outfit sometimes.. so dressing up is the only way to go!
16yeah, i'd dress up. you never know who you'll meet! i always make a new friend on a plane. and not love interests. I often try to avoid conversations, but then i meet someone cool and am glad they struck one up.

23Yes, everyone thinks I'm crazy but I love looking chic while flying!
24I dress casual,comfortable, and neat.
25I ALWAYS dress up to fly. But that's just the way I was brought up. The only time I would fly as a kid was to go see relatives, so my mom would make me dress up, so I guess it was embedded in my mind at an early age to look nice when catching a plane.

36I dress nice but exactly dressed up. I usually put a pair of heels or boots in my carry on so I can wear UGGS on the flight then change before we land ....
37Somewhere in between.I don't dress up, but I try to look nice while also being comfy.
38I am all about looking cute, classy and comfortable anywhere I go! The 3 C's is how I roll.
39Absolutely
40I always try to look cute but that doesn't mean that I'm not comfortable. I could wear a long jersey dress and be just as comfortable as I would be in sweats.
41If it's a red eye, there's no WAY I'm getting dressed up just to sleep - and probably near a bunch of hot, but also sleeping, guys.
But yeah, if it's the middle of the day, I might wear a cute skirt and blouse or skinny jeans with a tank.
