Just when I think I have exhausted my mom's closet for vintage treasures, I find some booty. Not too long ago I found this silk aquamarine tank. It's oh so Alexander Wang Spring '09. And the best part? It was free! Upon closer inspection, the tank got even cooler.I found these little tabs on the inside of the straps that snapped closed. I hadn't seen one of these for years. And, aha! They nestle in your bra straps so they don't go AWOL down your shoulder. Brilliant. But this made me realize, whatever happened to the bra-strap secret snap? We pay good money for designer tops and so many of mine don't have these. I did find one on a J.Crew top, though. I would suggest making one if you have bra-strap slippage, but it's actually a pretty intricate little detail. I vote to bring back the bra-strap secret snap!

I just got a special-occasion dress at Macy's that has these--such a great idea! I don't know why more tops don't have them.
It's fantastic . I love It.
Every dress I own from J.Crew has these tabs- love them!
I vote to bring it back too!!! I hate when my bra straps show!
I'm embarrassed to admit that I didn't know what these tabs were for! I have a couple of dresses that have them, and I always wondered!
I've never seen tabs like that. That's so useful. Why isn't that done more often?
Best thing ever. And you can easily make them yourself. My grandmother even added them to my wedding dress!
I thrifted an Emanuel Ungaro dress that had those! I didn't notice till after I had it on though
Wearing a Banana Republic dress with them right now! They are awesome.
...or we could just wear strapless bras?
Then again, I'm a 34 B...I'm not sure if strapless works wonders for bigger chests.
nice! i definitely don't see this neat little trick on enough clothing.
I've never seen this before. very cool idea!
how can i make these myself???
strapless bras suck for me. When my mother gets my blouses (cropped tops for saris) tailored, she always makes sure they include these, especially when I get one with a pretty back like these

better color combinations on mine though...i like an elegant lace up open back. how did i get so off topic? point is, these are life savers.
i have a silk top that's vintage and i never knew what those little tabs were for!! i guess this was all before i was born!!!!
OK...I am so about to go to my closet and look in every single one of my tops to see if I've missed any of these. Because that's amazing. My shoulders are small and oddly steeply sloped so my bra straps fall down constantly.
Wow... Why isn't this like a mandatory thing in shirts?
Cool idea, needs to be in all tops.
OMG all designers need to do this!!! I think I'm going to sew those into all my tops !
Great! It's so simple yet so effective!
*I'm going to save the picture.
I agree that this needs to be on all tops/dresses.
As a 36-D, I can say strapless bras don't work for everybody!!! Not even CLOSE. The idea of having a little tab to hold the straps in is a great one, and I too wish they were on more tops!!!
Yes we need that
Oh gosh I miss the days when I didnt have to wear a bra. That was the one pitfall of motherhood.
So neat!!
So cool!! These days even the dresses also have eyelets.
Or you could properly adjust your straps on your shoulders such that they don't slip! The wonders of a modern brassiere usually includes some way to shorten those straps for optimum fit. Use 'em.
Yep tops with these clips in do wonders, my sister's bra straps are forever slipping down and yes she does shorten them like the ones in the photo by the author which you can clearly see are shortened by the double strap at the back it just doesnt always work zoorph. Well my sister had similiar clips put in on a dress and she went all night without no bra strap falling down and was very happy. If you wearing a top with no clip and your bra strap is slipping an idea and what my sister sometimes does is fold over the edge of the top around the strap so it retains it on the shoulder and it usually stays as long as she doesnt lean over too much.
What if you have tops that don't come with the loops? I would use a bra strap clip
