The daring footwear in Alexander Wang's Spring '09 show really elevated the looks, literally and figuratively. There were platforms with chains, weaving, and perforations, but the fringe stole the show. These toughies have since been featured in many an editorial spread and been spotted on the feet of fashion's badasses. I realize they aren't for everyone, but if you can pull them off, consider this cheaper option . . .

Leave it to Forever 21 to come out with these Fringe Open Toe Boots ($35) that are practically identical to the Wang version. Blink and you might just think they're the real things. The fringe is not as stick-straight, but who cares? I can't vouch for their comfort but I can predict you'll look totally rad.

Ewwwwww
1I bought these and they are absolutely comfortable!!!
2no. no. no.
3Forever 21 shoes are comfortable, and may look like the real thing (of every other designer and high end shoe brand out there), however, they are CHEAP. Forever 21 shoes are cute but are not made well at all. They are made of cheap material, not put together well, and fall apart quickly. If you are buying a really rad pair of shoes for a particular occasion and don't want to spend too much money and are OK with not wearing them again then they are great. If you are looking for a quality pair of shoes that are still cute, spend the extra money and have the shoes for a while.
4I LOVE forever 21, I hate to bash on them like this but the one thing I will not buy from them anymore are their shoes.
I kinda like them but I don't think I could pull them off. Something about them is just a little off to me though.
5Knock-off x 1,000.
6Time for a law suit? I think yes.
Forever 21 can go down the tube as far as I'm concerned.
I have to admit, I'm a closet fan of Forever, but one thing I will not buy is their shoes. They look extremely cheap, and their "leather" looks like cheap latex from a mile away.
7i agree tulle, forever 21 needs to stop blatantly ripping designers off. i'm all about fashion for the masses, but really, come up with some original ideas.
8I hate them both VERY much.
9I agree that they should sue F21! although I do buy bargains from there...WELL.. THEY SHOULD NOT COPY. Fakers, ew.
