After much anticipation, the first Coco Avant Chanel movie trailer starring our fabulous Fabcon, Audrey Tautou, has finally released. The preview is in French, but that doesn't mean we can't come to our own conclusions about the plot. We do know it focuses on her earlier life, growing up and the budding stages of the house of Chanel. Judging from the steamy love scenes, crazy fights, and decadent clothes, I gather this to be an amazing period romance filled with action, love, and betrayal. But that's just my opinion. The film premieres in France April 22 and a US release date is still to be decided. Enjoy!
I am so excited to see this!!!
1This looks like a scene from the Lifetime Movie, I hope its a better production.
2It premiers on my birthday! Wouldn't it be soo cool to go to Paris and see this for my 21st birthday???? I wish...
3Amazing--I can't wait to see it!
4Oh hell yes!
5Oh Em Gee. I So Wanna See This. I So Heart Coco Chanel
6Oh, I love Audrey! I can't wait to see it (with subtitles of course). It looks gorgeous.
7Geez, Audrey Tautou always acts the same, believe me, as a French, I've seen her in other movies and she just does the same character. There is nothing new in this trailer and it's actually very cheesy with the dialogues (not so great acting as well if you ask me...).... I'm disappointed, I was expecting something more in the line of "La Môme", à la Marion Cotillard.
8-C'est quel des deux la plus jeune?
-Quand je m'ennuie, je me sens tres vieille.
-Et ce soir, vous avez quel age?
-Ce soir, j'ai mille ans.
Soo cheesy..
9geez, i'm disappointed
10Can't wait!
11Audrey Tatou !!! I loved her in Amelie so i'm pretty excited for this
12I have to agree with the comments by Mariemjs.
If you look closely at the lips of Gabrielle Chanel...they
look so much like Hubert...who is a much better actress than Tautou.
Mlle. I. Hubert...in the Lacemaker...had/has a sensitivity in which one does
not see her acting...but...becoming within the
personality...she evolves with.
I am surprised that Mlle. I. Hubert was not offered the role for CoCo... as she represents that elegance and abondemont that is so...much the woman that CoCo was
13at that time...a woman ..swimming upstream...with a mind that said...
"I am not limited by externals".
I may not have agred with her "interpretation of life"
but I respect the fact that...she lived it.
The idea that french cinema...would go the way of "The Big Name" to sell
a movie...is an insult to the french cultural integrity.
Hopefully...it returns to that...which one thinks and feels is french...... and as Woody Allen stated....."Thank God for the French"!
Please forgive the spelling mistakes !
