For Spring '09, Balmain clashed two cultures: the Wild West and the rockin' 80s. The campaign, shot by Inez van Lamsweerde & Vinoodh Matadin, depicts a stark, deserted diner in the background with Daria Werbowy posing hard in the forefront wearing Balmain's famous drummer boy coat, ripped to perfection jeans, and studded sandals. The juxtaposition between the two different worlds is interesting and I kind of like the dusty, dirt road against Balmain's sick, Spring offerings. But wait — isn't it a similar concept to Daria in the desert in Isabel Marant's latest ad? Hmmm . . .

12Ugh, the model looks scary. She's just skin and bones. If the point was to make her look like a vampire or zombie, they did a good job. This ad reminds me of Dawn of the Dead.
13nothing special compared to the AMAZING runway show...that's what made me want all the clothes, not daria (though i do love her)!

16hmmm okay.... Love the photography, love the model, love the location.... hate the idea!!! it's similar to the other ad and the concept reminds me of another campaign ad they did on the same location couple of seasons ago.... I think it was a Replay campaign ad....
