You knew Mary-Kate wasn't going to wear something simple. Far from. She swept through the Met Gala in a vintage Lacroix gown. The draped pleated chiffon bodice over a full ruffled skirt overlaid in metallic lace and silver-embroidered bustier-basque is a mouthful — and it's certainly a complex choice. She looks like she stepped off the set of a period film; is that a good or bad thing?

Pirates of the caribbean.. she looks like a bra maid in a period piece. UGLY
This is really bad, even for her.
It's different, and for some reason, I love it.
what's with her hair? well atleast she looks happy.
This really works for Mary-Kate. I think she's the only person who could get away with wearing this dress. But after looking at Madonna, anything would look good to me.
i think she looks fab!
i guess she's really digging the witchy vibe.
I agree with solitaire, for Mary-Kate this kind of feels natural, and I love the intricacies of the fabrics and the details.
I don't like it but at least she's smiling and doesn't look rail thin.
She looks like Tia Dailma from POTC. lol
Mmmm....LaCroix...Don't want to like it, but I can't help it!
Makes me think of ratty curtains.
Love it!
hate it, esp. her hair. It should have been completely up.
Um, no.
Love it. (Which surprised me.)
I love it! Very dramatic. It's not flattering though, makes her look shorter than she is, although maybe it's the camera angle...
So cool!!!
Its a lovely dress, but it looks like its falling off her.
MK looks overwhelmed by this dress. not a huge fan of it.
I kinda love this for some reason...
But I don't love her slouchy pose!!!
i love it too
She needs to stand up straight. She's a normal weight now - she should stop hiding her body under layers and layers of fabric all the time.
"Fetch me some ale, Tavern Wench. ARRGGH!"
It's fun so I can't knock it
I agree with mac addict on the barmaid in a period piece look. This could double as a Halloween costume.
Oh god, horrible. To me they both always get it wrong, they dress too old for their age, their clothing line is disgusting and they wear too much makeup for their pretty faces. Her right ring looks interesting, though.
She was making me think of someone and I just figured it out. It's SJP's character from "Hocus Pocus"
I love it... and I love that you can tell SHE loves it.
Ugh, bad Renaissance Fair. She's too short to pull this off
She looks even shorter than usual, but for some reason I love the dress. Only on her though
I think the dress is pretty awesome, but her posture completely ruins the look. STAND UP STRAIGHT, YOUNG LADY!!
Part of me screams costume! But the other part of me loves it anyways.
Who lets this chick out of the house? Seriously time to fire your stylist
i want to love this dress - but it's just too much for her petite frame
Looks like Morticia's wedding dress, but what else is new. MK's style was always iffy. Sometimes she looks amazing, others, she looks like this.
I instantly thought of a Renaissance Faire too, n0creat1v1ty.
I actually like it.
she look good here than last year DVF gold gown..love her~
This would look better if the dress fit her. It is WAY too big for her, she needs to go down a few sizes.
