Penelope Cruz and Scarlett Johansson have a lot in common. Besides starring in one of my favorite recent movies, Vicky Christina Barcelona, the two Hollywood beauties also share a love for Mango. The Spanish retailer just announced Scarlett Johansson will be succeeding our beloved Penelope as Mango's new face. The brand describes Scarlett as the ideal Mango woman: "chic, independent, and cosmopolitan," also stating, "Johansson exudes a confident demeanor while remaining youthful and playful." Tear, we'll miss you Penelope. Johansson will make her first Mango debut in the Fall '09 campaign shot by Mario Sorrenti.

I agree with sidra + mariana. I love MANGO and I think Penelope inspired me to buy their items because she complemented their style, I can't say the same for Scarlett, I hate her in those Lious Voiuton ads
4Oh noooo! Why the change? I love Penelope as the face for Mango. They changed to a younger actress (Scarlett), part of the business, I guess? Sucks. I prefer Penelope, just my opinion.

9YUCK! Why do people in the fashion and acting industries (or the entertainment industry in general) think SCARHO is so great. She is absolutely useless as an actress, has a horrible singing voice, and is not attractive to boot (she has large boobs...big deal! They will be sagging in 2 years' time). Bring back Penelope, a true classic beauty! I guess I'll be boycotting Mango clothes now.

11I think they're both gorgeous, and I love them both, but I agree with the above comment about Scarlett being in ads for EVERYTHING these days. It IS getting a tad boring seeing her face everywhere, even though it is a lovely face.

14this is starting to kind of annoy me. I love Penelope and associate Mango with her, and I don't think Scarlett could represent the clothing line as good as Penelope. And then Scarlett did a duet album with my favorite singer Pete Yorn, which is okay but she just seems to be popping into everything and it's getting too much. Plus I've never been a fan of her.
