With Paris and Nicky Hilton on its runway and two wacky designers behind its fashions, it's no surprise that the Tuesday night show from Heatherette was one of the most buzzed-about events at New York Fashion Week. The models, which also included Mena Suvari and Kelis, strutted out a smorgasbord of styles ranging from lavender and gold lame to leopard and Hawaiian prints to country-club fashions gone a little nutty.
Created by designer duo Traver Rains and Richie Rich, Heatherette's clothes are admittedly off-kilter, but several innovative ideas stood out, including alphabet-print fabrics, voluminous appliques, and some truly creative layering. 1When will these two stop getting press? Actually, I'd be willing to deal with Nicky for years to come if Paris would just move into a biodome or something.
2I think Heatherette, despite being completely unwearable, is so fun. I like this collection, with the exception of those 2 tropical-tourist-print outfits. That last dress Paris is showing I could actually see someone wearing for an event. At least they put on a good show!

7People keep saying that the clothes are unwearable, but the designs in the stores are tamed down versions. The same prints are there but on regular hoodies, tees, skirts, etc. I love Heatherette. And thankfully a tiny little boutique in Camas, WA of all places sells it near me. I love Paris Hilton too. Who cares if she gets press, she is good at it. Stop hating.
