In order to further capitalize on her success as "Izzie" on Grey's Anatomy, Katherine Heigl is rolling out a line of health care uniforms in conjunction with Peaches Uniforms.
The designs are aimed at bringing "a new level of style and sophistication to medical professionals who value looking good as much as they value their life's work," and four looks are supposed to reflect the personality of Izzie.
The collection will debut in late Fall of this year, and one of the pieces from the anticipated line can be seen here.
It kind of seems like the celebrity designer collaborations keep getting weirder and weirder, what do you all think?

I think this is a great idea. I don't work in the medical industry, but I have friends that do and they HATE their daily uniform. It would be wonderful to have some more options for them. Go Izzy!!
I have no reason to wear these but I've seen the pictures and they do look exactly like what Izzie wears on the show.
I don't work in that particular field, but have you seen some of the garb that is available for these highly trained people. They are unattrative and dumpy to say the least. Hopefully, this will inject the profession with a little more panache. I would have to say that all in all, I think that this collaboration is more inventive than the conventional celebrity/designer fashion line, which by the way seems so passe.
Can't wait
I voted lame, simply because if you're a doctor what's the point in shelling out on scrubs when the possibility of getting blood, vomit, etc, on them is so high?? I don't think one can be precious about it.
Scrubs are scrubs.
I voted that it was a cool idea, because I worked in a nursing home for some time, and I would've given ANYTHING to have worn better uniforms.
And also, I think there are a lot of young nurses out there whose choices are scrubs with bees, kittens, and teddy bears on them that want something a little more modern.
I am so sick of Katherine Heigl.
Kinda dumb.
I think it's a great idea. It's a really creative thing for her to think of doing. I think it's a lot better than coming out with thousand dollar fashions like so many other celebrities do.
I think it's a little strange, considering Katherine Heigl isn't a real healthcare professional, she's an actress...and I work in healthcare and while a lot of the uniforms seem drab & ugly, they do get ruined a lot when blood and stuff gets on them, so I don't see many ppl spending money on them to look cuter.
I think it is a great idea. I am sure people in the medical industry are sick of the same old scrubs with little baby animal prints.
seriously? like, scrubs are for work, and shelling out a ton of money b/c it has katherine heigl's name on it seems pretty frivolous.
Stupid idea
Lame. She's so stylish, why not launch a fashion line that might actual make her some money?
This is amazing! Finally a pair of scrubs that I can look decent in.
My mother is a nurse and scrubs are getting pretty trendy already. You just have to make them your own. I have to say that from the pic I saw the scrubs from her line look cheap! I mean come on - celebs are going way too far.
Sure, why not. I'm kind of dazed of the whole celebrity designer trend, but in this case Katherine is gearing her line towards people working in the medical profession, so it's like she's doing a service for them. It'll be a mix between style and substance.
GREAT idea. i know so many nurses who hate having to wear teddy bears or spongebob scrubs bc thats all they can find. These people are medical professionals who should be allowed to dress with a little bit of style!
As someone who is training to be nurse, I appreciate the gesture and look forward to the days in which scrubs are functional AND fashionable.
I think it's great. Just because people work in the medical field doesn't mean they don't want to look cute all day.
i like the idea because it's a more personal project and she probably really does feel bad for people stuck with few choices in scrubs and it's not a predictable, cheesy, money making venture like every other "star" has created.
what a lame idea... there's really not anything you can do to scrubs... different patterns??? i can't imagine a nurse wearing something else... don't they have to follow certain dress codes???
she isnt even really a nurse what the hell does she know about outfitting them? i hate the world sometimes
doesn't sound too interesting
I do agree that scrubs need some sprucing up but I'm not sure I like this idea. It's not like she has ever really worked as a nurse or doctor. If she had then I think it would be a much better idea.
I'm beginning to get sick of celeb turned designers but this one isn't as bad as it sounds. I think it's only lame when you aren't in the health field or if you don't know anyone who is. Those of us who are can appreciate some fresh alternatives even if it's coming from an overrated actress.
aaaa...SELL OUT???
i'm getting sick of her...grey's is not even that good!
Lame so lame. Katherine Heigl has no personal style whatsoever. Besides she is designing the scrubs as much as Niki Hilton was designing hotels.
I have no reason to wear scrubs because I don't work in that field. But somehow I don't think she really has a lot to do with the design, she probably is just putting her name on someone else's idea to make it popular and sell it at a higher price.
i wonder how expensive those "fashionable" scrubs are. i imagine people in the healthcare field go through a lot of those!
anyone who thinks this is lame has never had to wear regular scrubs. They fit them for "average" size, which is men, if you're a doctor. The tops are so large, about 4 sizes too big, and the bottoms look like you're a sk8ter boy. hooray for these! I only hope I can get them in Canada...
As someone who's thinking about a career in the medical industry and possibly would have to wear scrubs, I don't think this is a bad idea. Cuter scrubs? Sure, why not!
More stylish scrubs aren't a terrible idea, but all the ones from this line I've seen pictures of have long sleeves, which, according to an OB/GYN interviewed in US Weekly, is "unsanitary." Maybe there should have been some research into that, I would hope no one would sacrifice santitation at the expense of patients just to look cuter
I agree Jessi..
Sanitation is important! As someone working in the field, well I think it's interesting that Katherine come up with this concept. I wonder how affordable it really will be..Anyway, if there are nice designs..why not?
I work at a hospital, and scrubs could be greatly improved. Most of them are company provided, and therefore are made to fit everyone- short, tall, wide, scrawny. Scrubs could be greatly improved with their fit and cut. And medical professionals already shell out lots of money to get better fitting scrubs in pretty colors/patterns at their own expense. If these are cute, I am definitely interested.
i think its kind of cool, if i was in that profession I'd probably buy them
Her line looks really bad.
I'll stick with Dickies, which fit soo great on petite women, i don't like how peaches fit.
FYI folks, coming from and ER nurse, blood washes out.
If I have to spend money on srubs, better be ones I like.
Sounds kinda weird. . .I mean technically on the show she's on a DR. in training. . .
sounds like a good idea!
I love Grey's anatomy and all, but this idea sounds lame.
go izzy!!! yay
cant wait to get me some i hope they'll be on sale here. go
healthcare workers!!
I love Katherine Heigl, and I think this is a great idea. Scrubs are either boring or tacky [cartoons, ick] so it's good to get an alternate option in there...
I am in the medical field, and love this idea. I'm 24 and love the new awesome designs that are coming out for scrubs. They are pretty cheap too. You can get them for like $10 to $20 bucks each, so it's no big deal if they do get destroyed from blood or other things, cause in the medical field, you know you can always afford more fabulous looking scrubs!
