Shrug
A cropped, cardigan-like garment with short or long sleeves, typically knitted. It usually covers less of the body than a vest would, but it is more tailored than a shawl. Some shrugs are tied together just below the bustline, while some are cut off at the sides, making them nothing more than a pair of sleeves joined at the back. More recently, shrugs have taken a new direction, coming in all sorts of prints, drapes, and fabrics. They're the perfect Summer cover-up (and oh-so Buffy Summers).

Personally, I think shrugs are fugs. But I HATE my arms, and it seems like this season, virtually every dress for sale is sleveless! So shrugs it is, vomity though they may be.
1This look is so 1998.
2I just started knitting one myself, but since I am new at knitting and not a very patient person it's a big question mark whether I will actually finish this project. Hope so though, I am not a big fan of my arms either. I like three quarter sleeves, skin hugging but not tight.
3Oh, girls-who-don't-love-their-arms, don't wear shrugs! Chances are, no one else will notice what you dislike about your arms. Shrugs draw attention to insecurities and make me imagine the worst of women's arms; sort of like how you imagine someone who always wears vertical stripes as being fatter than they actually are.
