One thing is for sure: Madonna and Marc Jacobs can't get enough of those bunny ears. Louis Vuitton's Fall '09 campaign, shot by Steven Meisel in NYC, captures (an overly) Photoshopped image of the the pop star wearing an outfit similar to the one she proudly paraded to the Met Gala complete with '80s-inspired mesh fingerless gloves and an oversized LV monogrammed bag. Madonna's mannequin-like pose and blemish-free face are too unrealistic for my taste but might appeal to some Material Girl aficionados. What say you — a hit or major diss?

ummm, is the idea of the overly photoshopped picture supposed to make madonna look fake? if it is they did a good job.
1I really wish he would have used a model instead. I feel like the ads with Madonna just cheapen the brand.
2Yeah, they also got rid of her creepy arm veins.
3agree with nygurl totally
4Madonna is too old to be...a model.
5I love Madonna...but i don't get this ad way too much photoshop...is she suppose to be "part" of the chair?
6Yeah I sincerely hope it was their aim to make her look like a plastic doll. If so - win. If not - fail.
7This is a very interesting advertisement; Madonna doesn't look like a real person and it almost seems that her and the chair are one. Although it is a bit creepy up close, I'm sure the "wax" look is what Louis Vuitton was going for.
8This is WAY too photoshopped. It doesn't even look like Madonna.
9i actually love this.
10what's on her head?
11Photoshop includes making her look 1/2 her real age. Nice. If she is going to model, at least stop hiding the fact that she's not 25 anymore.
12I don't like it at all - the amount of Photoshopping and the result are ridiculus. And what's more I find it entirely distracting - you do not see the bag, you see the model. This is not a good ad (imho of course).
13Is that her? And are her arms somehow surgically attached to the chair?
Her head looks out of place.
I completely agree with redscorpio. Completely forgot it's an advert for a bag! Oops...though the bag is quite nice.
14Tired. Just tired.
15hate Madonna, and I think she is terrible at everything she does especially modeling; so this is actually a step up from her first ad haha! but, yeah, the photoshopping is just too wierd and unrealistic; it looks cheap and stupid; like some little kid made it.
16serriously though; as much as I hate those stupid bunny ears; they should have used that picture of Marc himself wearing them - I loved that picture!
if you don't know what I'm talking about; you have to see it:

and even aside from the atrocious fakeness of this ad; as usual it is unoriginal and boring!
17The photoshop thing is pretty distracting, however, I think Madonna resembles the brand (LV) a lot- luxurious, dramatic, with a classic twist.
18I looked at the photo a second time and noticed just how much they photoshopped her face. Marc, good choice of a model, but the actual photo is poorly executed.
19It's good photo, but wow, photoshopping to the max!
20this looks like a promo for alice in wonderland
21I love it!
22I'm thinking that maybe she's supposed to look like a mannequin (sp?)
23The bunny ears have to go, otherwise the photo is gorgeous. Yes it's so photoshopped that we can barely recognize her, but fashion advertising is all about fantasy.
24hmm.... i don't like madonna as a face for the campaign.
25the bag she's modelling isn't even that nice either.
so it's a flop on both parts!
I definitely wouldn't have recognized her...tooooooo much photoshop...what's the point of paying her all that money for this ad, if half the population doesn't even recognize her?
26I actually really like the ad even though I don't care for Madge or Louis Vuitton.
27This is a fantastic ad campaign. The saturation of photoshop, the stiff doll-like poses of every picture, the blending of her, the furnishings and the backdrop accentuates the bags. Beautiful color rendering and quite unique. Everything you see is deliberate and produces vivid contrasts from the bags themselves which is the true product. These are far more exciting than the previous campaign used with Madonna. Although beautiful photos done in a cafe setting, they were more true to life in a real environment and the bags became camouflaged.
In this case, the series of photos are bold yet decadent and very fresh. Well done Steven!
