Unfortunately I have no cashmere yet but when I get some I will def buy this. Good idea.
1This is awesome! First of all, I despise paying so much for cashmere and then spending MORE money on cleaning it. Second, no one wants to give up their favorite cashmere sweater to the dry cleaner in the dead of winter, even if it is filthy! Great idea, and thanks for telling us about it.
2Do you use this in the washing machine. Or is this used to be washed by hand
3you can actually just use woolite or even the generic form (only about $5) in the washing machine on delicate... then lay flat to air dry.
i've been doing that for years with my cashmere and it's supposed to be the best thing for it (you're right, dry cleaning IS the worst for cashmere b/c of the chemicals).
4I wouldn't pay $18 for this --- bussbuss is right - you can use generic woolite.
5I worked for a clothing designer back in the 90's and she recommended using baby shampoo (crazy cheap a little over a dollar) on silk, cashmere, or anything that is dry clean only. I even cheat and put it in the washing machine on delicate/ cold, then I dry flat. I made my own drying rack using salvaged window screens, also cheap!
