Ugly Betty has been such a success, VH1 is developing a reality show called America The Ugly which is said to be loosely based on Betty. The premise of the show investigates what happens to unattractive women who are working in the fashion and modeling industries. Becky Southwick, the fork-tongued former Wilhelmina Models executive who gained fame for calling girls fat on VH1's The Agency, is also involved.
I've been tired of the reality-show phenomenon for some time now, and this show sounds a little low-brow to me - what do you all think?

It might be interested, but I'm just so fed up with reality-shows! They include usually more acting than the shows based on script.
1I'm shameless. Even when a reality show looks like trash I end up watching every episode, ESPECIALLY VH1 shows.

14I work in the fashion industry just like Betty, I'm not "HOT", Betty and I have the same figure shape and I have to deal with models and skinny bulimic people all day who ask me all about things that I could really care less about, LIKE SUPER EXPENSIVE CLOTHING. Although I'm editor-in-chief, I still shop at the salvation army and am known to have a poncho or two..
What's even stranger is that we dress very similar and her company is called MODE, mine is called eModa!

20I think "Ugly Betty" has such a great message for all women. This proposed reality show is not only a rip-off - it's a complete travesty and a total slap in the face about what "Ugly Betty" stands for.
