If you haven't yet heard of Doo-Ri, familiarize yourself now: The line, created by designer Doo-Ri Chung, was this year's winner of Swarovski's coveted Perry Ellis award, bestowed upon the best emerging designer at the Council of Fashion Designers of America Awards. Doo-Ri's clothes are renowned for their easy fit and ability to cascade down the body, and the Spring 2007 collection at New York Fashion Week was no exception.
The Grecian-inspired styles relied heavily on off-white and gold tones, with most every item featuring one intricate accent as its centerpiece. Striking details included beaded waistlines, criss-crossed fabric swaths, and satin cap sleeves. The full-length evening gowns were refreshingly quiet and elegant, with Doo-Ri saving the fussier details for the fun, more casual pieces. To see all of Fabsugar's Fashion Week coverage, click here.
