There's no question that Kate Moss is a fashion trendsetter, but now she's trying her hand at being a fashion designer. In an article in today's Women's Wear Daily confirms the rumor that Kate just inked a deal to design a line of clothing for super-fabulous British retail chain Topshop. (Seriously, if you haven't been to Topshop, you should make a pilgrimage to the retailer's London flagship store ASAP. It is like H&M, but better.) Here are the details from WWD:
The collection, Kate Moss for Topshop, will debut at the company's 308 stores and on its Web site in spring 2007. "We want to build this into a global brand," Sir Philip Green, owner of Topshop's parent, Arcadia Group plc, told WWD in an interview. "She is a fashion icon in terms of the U.K., probably the best-known model, and is what Topshop is all about in terms of fashion. Our customers identify with her."
Green is undoubtedly right: Moss almost single handedly launched the skinny jeans trend (like, over a year ago), and at Topshop's runway show at London Fashion week, she was spotted in these high-waisted jeans that just might be the next big thing.

Not Kate freakin' Moss again. I'm off for a coffee.
1she really needs to put some makeup on her eyes..
2I'm so glad high waisted might be instyle again! I just bought a few pairs of pants that are higher wasted (because I'm sick and tired of my stomach hanging out and showing my love handles).
3Yeah, I'm ready for waistlines to raise again, too. I'm sick of seeing asscrack everywhere I go.
4ooooh i love these jeans. and im so freakin sick of super low and skinnny jeans. i have too much booty for leggings and $hit. finally, my jeans are cool.
5i don't get how you can be such a huge coke-head and have it splashed all over the papers and one year later...BOOM! you're higher than ever in your career and you're making millions more than you previously did. i just don't get it!
6having said that, (and i hate that i'm about to say this) i can't help but love her style. she can make some really plain stuff look ridiculously chic and cool. and the jeans (sigh) are really cute...
7mmmm...I'm not feelin' the high-waisted, but at least I'm glad about the straight leg.
(I have longer legs than I do body, so high waisted looks kind of ridiculous on me.)

8Check out my latest poll: Would you rather...('NERD' VERSION!!!)
nicachica, no press is bad press.
It works for Madonna, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, and others like Kate Moss.
9I don't like Kate Moss, but I do agree that she can make even the plainest outfits really cute. Even a gray tshirt without a bra! Lol! I guess that's why she's a model...she can pull this kind of stuff off.
My midsection is shorter than my legs too, but I would much rather look like a leggy person who covers her stomach and ass rather than have it all hang out. Lol!
10Topshop are too overpriced for my liking, this will mean they'll even more so.
11I like her jeans, but I prefer my jeans to be low-rise (although I can't abide super low rise).
those jeans look identical to a pair of tommy hilfiger's i have, and i ♥ LOVE ♥ them!
12Emma xxxwe have topshop in ireland too. its the best.
13looking forward to it kate!
Wow you are from Ireland! Cool! I hate Kate Moss for her scandals but I love her style. EVERYONE copies her.
14I don't like the high-waisted pants but I do agree with everyone that she looks cool here.
15Isn't it also true that she's only like 5'7''?
I have the opposite of a lot of you- I have a long torso and shorter legs. I prefer low rise (but not TOO low!!!)
Aren't higher waisted jeans "mom jeans"? If they are too high, they look awful and make your butt twice the size.
16i prefer a mid rise jean b/c i am tall (5'8") and have a longer torso. they look much better on me. i dont think high waists necessarily are "mom jeans". cut is important.
17We only have 2 Topshops in Denmark, but they are near me so im looking so much forward to this. She has such a good style, cant believe she doesnt have a stylist but do it by herself. So cool! I just cant wait.
