Hello my name is FabSugar and I'm addicted to American Apparel. Okay, now that I got that out of the way, I can go on and on about how much I adore this Poplin Reversible Vest, $36, that comes in eight color combos.
The first thing that appealed to me is that it's reversible - coolness. If one day I am feeling blue, I can wear the light blue side. If the other I am feeling dark, I can wear the black side. Heck, if I'm feeling really excited, I can wear bright turquoise! I also love that it looks so crisp and clean against a white tank. It would spice up any old jeans-and-t-shirt outfit in an instant. Fabworthy indeed!

so cute!!
1no a big fan of the vests!!
2not digging it, but thanks for sharing!
3Oh so fabulous!
4I'm not a vest girl.
5I'm not sure if I'd wear it but it looks good on the model.
6hahahaha all i can think of whenever i see an American apparel ad/pic is the "virtual" conversation i had with miss cocca. i think she said how some of their ads were a bit raunchy and had in-your-face sexuality. then i said i think the reason why they're a bit raunchy is because the photos looked very raw and were very reminiscient of 70s porn. In other words their ads have that "Boogie Nights" vibe into them. Okay now i'm definitely going off-topic here. my bad. lol.
but i like the vest. i'm a vest girl so i might purchase one. i'm just afraid taht vest migt go out of style.
7I'm a total AA junkie as well~ so many comfy, cute and simplistic styles...I make an order about every other month! I too was eyeing this vest..lol
8Blahhhhh
9My bf is obsessed with AA. I was turned off of AA a few months ago. I bought a swimsuit from them and I couldn't return it. It's my own fault for not reading the fine print though. Tip for others: Don't buy their swimwear online.
10can we do an outfit tag for this vest...mccubcakes likes...but totally deft on how to apply it fashionably...
11Blah, can't stand vests for some reason.
12Loves it!
13this trend with the vestm shirt and the short short has to die. The symbolic meaning of the vest has been lost.
14i like the vest, but can't stand AA
15I like this vest look, and may have to try it. I don't know if I can pull it off, but I've never worn one, so might as well try!
16that doesn't look like it's worth $36. It looks unfinished and like someone could sew that for 5 bucks. Not digging it either.

love american apparel!
18American Apparel?!?! Did you know that it's CEO, Don Charney, suggested in an article for the July 2004 issue of Jane magazine that women who complain about unsolicited sexual come-ons at work are simply suffering from a “victim culture” and that “Out of a thousand sexual harassment claims, how many do you think are exploitative?” before opining, “women initiate most domestic violence.” Reporter Claudine Ko interviewed Charney for the Jane magazine article and stated that right in front of her, while she was conducting her interviews of him, Charney received oral sex from one of his female employees, and then went on to masturbate in front of Ko about eight times. He also uses girls as young as 15 in his controversial soft-porn ads (often taking the photos himself in his apartment using girls he finds on the street)? He has also been sued four times for sexual harassment. He also admits to hiring only girls that he wants to try and sleep with (polaroids are taken of all applicants, even those applying to be a cashier), and he usually wears only his underwear during work meetings, sometimes masturbating in front of his staff. He also posts photos from Penthouse in the factory as well as in stores. And he openly admits all of this because he sees nothing wrong with his actions. So why would anyone support this pig by buying his clothing?! The company promotes itself as a leader in fair labor practices (high wages; no outsourcing, etc), but I think the sexually charged environment he has created is just as exploitative. Plus he's a union buster! For a great summary of all this go to http://www.businessweek.com/magazine/content/05_26/b3939108
