I've got one when i was younger. But now, nah, dont want one anymore. I got a good deal for an LV bag from my friend. Thats the one and only designer bag that I own and im happy with that. Ü
i read somewhere that a woman must have atleast one designer bag. Ü
I don't want to support child labor so I don't. Also, fakes tend to be poor quality and monogrammed. Sorry, but don't want to advertise for a company. If I could get a solid, leather
couterfeit bag free of monograms or labels, I would be tempted.
a girl friend told me this - if u ever get to china or hk, and see these fakes, you wont be able to tell, i swear. they even have different GRADES for such fakes.... the SUPER A grades are
top of the line real fakes.
sometimes I find counterfeits that cost really expensive as well...those are actually made similarly, without official approval/link to the designer...so those, why not..but not those cheap
ones where quality fails big time..yah retail_therapy is right, there are levels for fakes..
i have to agree with ethiopian_princess ... i can't stand the monogrammed ones!!! also, whenever i see someone with a monogrammed LV i tend to assume it's fake because you see those
EVERYWHERE. someone once tried to sell me a fake longchamp le pliage tote once - i almost bought it because it looked so real but it was suspicious because 1) the zipper was a completely
different colour than what it should have been 2) it seemed cheaper than usual and 3) um, it was the only one in the store ... red light!
I can't afford the real ones. And I'm not pretending to be something I am not. It's just a piece of bag. I just like the feeling that I have something or possess something that looks Louis
Vuitton without hurting my pocket. And of crse, I don't wear those bags all the time. INoften interchange my bangs ---almost every other day and I have lots of non-branded bags.
People who know me know who I am.
woo.. my favourite thing to do is visit Canal Street when in NY. I love to bargain!! I wouldn't buy the ridiculously obvious fakes, like Chanel or LV .. but I did find a gorgeous Spy bag ..
ps. retail therapy is on the mark - there are grade levels for fakes. a good way to spot a good fake is in the leather wraps all the around, instead of patched together in pieces; meaning the
bag should be as close to one piece of fabric as possible. You know, I would never walk around with a real 5 grand bag on my arm - I would get too upset if I were ever mugged!
when I was in junior high school, EVERYONE was buying fake bags...so I of course followed the crowd and got 3 fake louis vuittons...looking at them now, I wonder what I was thinking...not
only do they look sooo god awfully fake, they aren't even cute!
I would never buy a fake purse again...if I really like a designer's purse, I'll save up and get the real deal!
ps...I never really LOVE any designer purses except MK and coach, which are more affordable and not even worth scouting out a fake version!
I say "real or no deal"!I find the idea of counterfeit bags repulsive. First of all, the designer is not getting any credit for his/her work and secondly, you are possibly funding criminal
organizations. Just for that, it's not worth it to me.
I don't have alot of money myself, but it somewhat motivates me to work hard and earn enough to get a designer bag. I find it disappointing when I work and work to buy a designer bag and then
find out that anyone who has a $20 in their hand can get a hold of the "same" one? As condescending as it may sounds, I think designer bags should be bought by those who can pay for it.
Unfortunately, it's a fact that most of us can't afford to buy designer, but why not simply buy a fashionable bag?
When I was younger, I'm talking like 13 or 14, I had a fake Kate Spade. Nowadays it's a no go. I'd rather spend the money on the true thing instead of a fake. The quality usually doesn't
compare. And to me, it's a waste of money.
I don't and I wouldn't. I'm from the Philippines and I hate how people buy counterfeit bags, tops, shoes, lunettes etc. I was walking to work the other day and these two girls in front of me
both had "Coach" bags. It's tacky and...it annoys me because I do have an authentic Coach bag and I think that when people see me with it, they'll assume that it's fake, ya know?
But it's just not about symbolic capital. I'd rather buy something that isn't designer but is authentic, than buy a fake.
When I was in highschool...but I am grown now and I know the difference between a fake and authentic bag. I have one logo bag, but I usually stay away from them so besides that - there are
too many cute handbags out there to spend your money on a fake one...
I have a couple from "purse parties" but if I am going to pay $40 for a knockoff bag, I may as well buy a decent quality bag elsewhere (non "designer inspired")
It's the same as buying Jessica Simpson's shoes that are clearly Loubou knockoffs. I won't do it because as a designer this is their creation and their art. If I can't afford (or don't want
to spend that much) on their pieces, I simply move on. I have so many handbags that are decently priced ($75-$150) that are not knock offs, are well made, and are from beautiful leather. This
is the way to go people. Be different, be original and be REAL!
Also, as someone who works in the creative field I can only imagine how it would feel to see people profiting off my work by selling it cheaper and of poor quality.
the fake logo bags are cheesey. heck, most real logo bags are cheesey to me. i make do with non-designer bags and occasionally splurge for a nice designer piece.
no deal! I won't buy a fake bag or shoe, i can't (and i don't) afford the real ones with a thousands of dollars, so why should i pretend to be someone i!m not. And they seem so fake, so
cheap, they just make people look at me like a dumb tryin' to be "someone".
I believe that i can be fashionable, i can be beautiful by combining right parts and they don't need to be luxury brands.
If it's well made and you like the style I say go for a cheaper version! I usually pick style over labels anytime. I know a lot of people who dont want to pay 1100 for a desinger bag but love
the shape/size will get a cheap well made version or go find the same style made elsewhere.
I agree w/fashionsugar though, I love MK and Coach and a few other brands that are not as pricey so it's worth it to get a real one.
i have one for sure.. but its only cuz it was super super cheap! and everyone wants to have a pretty purse.. even if its just that one.. that you can get all dressed up and take out! soo to
me it was totally worth it! i mean i wouldn't buy tons and tons of them but im happy with my one
I'd buy a "designer inspired" but not a knock off. I had a guy at the local flea market tell me that it was a real LV for only $30. Yeah, right. It was a hideously obvious knock off and just
looked tacky. But something very similar that didn't claim to be the real thing, I'd buy. Especially if it was inspired by the tan Gucci Indy bag!
Those fake logo bags are terrible looking! The quality of them are usually plastic looking. And I feel it does cheapen the luxary of a real authentic desginer bag.
Nope. I considered it before I bought my real Louis, but I just couldn't do it, I really prefer the real thing. Plus, I always hear how counterfeits help fund crime/terrorism and even if I'm
not sure how accurate that is, I don't want to be a party to that!
Honestly, I have 3 bags or so that are "designer-inspired" (heh), but I'm very hesitant to purchase anything logo-ed that's not an original, because they LOOK fake! But I get tons of
compliments on my fakey Botkier and fakey Balenciaga (well, until women-in-the-know notice the crappy canvas linings! =P )I know there's a whole ethical issue, but the sh-t is expensive, and
I like to mix and match so I can get real versions of what I really covet (wow that was long!) =)
Technically, I didn't buy it. A Friend of mine did and I paid her back. I can't go to the stalls in Chinatown and haggle. Too many people. Not a fun way to shop.
Okay i have a lot to say on this one.... I think "inspired by" pieces are okay (taking key factors of the piece and incorporating them into your own design - like how a lot of ppl are putting
red soles on their shoes now). Designers love to inspire others- it is their calling and thats the way fashion works. and it doesn't undercut their profits b/c if you have the money to buy a
Louboutin, you're not going to buy the Jessica Simpson version anyway... a fake or replica is not okay (claiming to be the original) b/c their sales often fund terrorist and criminal
activities and the products usually involve child labor (See the Harper's Bazaar Fakes are Never in Fashion Website) and plus they devalue the designer's peices... When Im caring my Louis I
wonder if ppl assume its fake just bc there's so many out there...and they probably do assume that since most ppl cant tell the difference (even though to me its so obvious- i can literally
spot a fake louis from across the room!) ... I did however purchase some fake stuff in New York when I was like 12 or 13 b/c I thought they were real. I thought they were stolen, but at lest
real! lol i have since thrown them away tho
p.s. there are a couple "inspired by" things that i don't like. Its whenever they look too desperate. like i would never buy a GUESS bag or logo belt bc they just look they want to be Gucci
so bad with all those G's on them!
Never! I don't consider myself a liar so why would I ever carry a handbag that is fake? Also when I was younger I worked for this woman and she was very wealthy and said she couldn't pay me
but would buy me a Chanel handbag. Turns out she bought me a fake for all of my hard work and time I was heartbroken.
I've never bought a counterfeit one, but I've bought replicas (meaning no monogram and a bit different hardware, just a similar look/color/shape). I don't mind replica or "inspired-by" ones.
If I wanted a monogrammed one, I'd buy the real thing.
I confess, when I was younger, I knowingly and willingly purchased fakes while in Hong Kong. It was the AAA (high high quality) fakes. It fooled everyone I showed, but I was so honest, I
always told them they were fakes. Now, I still might buy a fake if the design catches my fancy, but I always will admit it is fake. Better to be humble.
i would never buy a fake logo bag, well also because i don't usually like the monogrammed bags cos they tend to be made out of cloth and vinyl a lot, leather monograms tend to be more subtle
i find. anyway, i would get a designer-inspired bag though, for example there's an amazing local brand where i am that does LOTS of bags in geniune leather and theyre pretty good quality and
every so often they'll come up with a bag that looks suspiciously like a designer, nothing flashy at all, like the YSL Muse, plain and simple, with less detail and no lock-like detail, but
the general shape is there, and i love the shape, so i would totally get that bag, knowing that it was good quality but 10 times less in price! hahaha hope i made sense!
Heck no! My husband bought me a Dooney purse for Christmas a year and a half ago and now I want another designer purse (COACH!!!)! He didn't know what he was getting into when he bought that
first one for me. hehe
When I went to China last April, my mom and cousin asked me to bring them back bags. I did; I bought one for each of them. They were REALLY cheap and well-made for a fake. I don't think
anyone can spot my cousin's Coach purse as a fake. Anyway, I only buy them for others.
I don't care what name is on the purse as long as it is well made leather and is easy to get in and out of fast and isn't loaded up withe useless zippers pockets and tassels etc etc
fake bags support child labor and a host of other criminal acts, because the people that are producing them are usually mafia funded. I would much rather save my pennies (while toting my
banana republic bag) and buy the real thing when I can.

Kristin Cavallari turned one of her favorite Summer shirts into in a perfect Fall layering piece as she demonstrated here on her way to the Trina Turk boutique in LA. She paired this plaid button down with a gray tank, a black miniskirt, tights, and some suede Christian Louboutin ankle boots.
...whats new? I cant afford the real ones so i go for what is available in our place and whatever, as long as its fashionable.
1i never have bought one but you get real good fakes out there.

8Nah. What's the point?
9maybe for fun. but then again that's tacky. why waste the money?
