Color gradation is sometimes cool. But on a purse, like this Prada Ombre Patent Leather Tote, $2,270, it looks quite tacky. I really like the shape of the purse as well as the buckled top handles, but the color theatrics aren't for me. What about you?

it's kinda cool. i don't normally wear a lot of patterned clothes, so i like my purses to be fun. i think if you keep everything else simple it could be a really fun piece to have!
1I think it could have worked in other colours, but this particular combination just looks garish to me.

6It looks like a white purse that has been spray painted with black paint and especially the red paint. The shine of the purse doesn't help it either.

28Hate it. I swear they have these designer labels but they make ugly things like this and then sell them for a lot of money. I think the designers are laughing whenever they see someone with a bag like this. Like "look what we made them pay $2,000+ for, and it's so ugly, ha ha ha ha". Or they really just have bad taste.
29I am a huge fan of gradients (Photoshop, anybody?), and naturally I've fantasized about them on bags. I don't know exactly if I like this...I've never exactly liked the colour combination of black, white and red. I think that if Prada stuck with two more subdued colours, with a bit more fading between them, it would've worked. I'm thinking of the one that Madonna carried a few days ago, a black and white one? I drooled over that for a few minutes.
