Gap isn't the only company getting on the (Product) Red bandwagon. Now, Apple is contributing to the cause with its lovely red 4 GB iPod Nano Red. The Red initiative, which Bono discussed during his appearance on Oprah today, was launched by the U2 singer and Bobby Shriver to raise money for and awareness of HIV/AIDS in Africa. When you buy the special-edition red Nano, Apple will contribute $10 from your purchase price to the Global Fund, which funds AIDS research and drug distribution in Africa.

The color-screen gadget holds up to 1,000 songs in a stunning red aluminum enclosure. It's a great size if you only buy one iPod, but if you already have one of the larger versions, it also makes a great auxiliary gadget for jogging or other activities.
