I've been embracing belts lately because they add character to an outfit. My belt style of choice has been the skinny; they're more flattering than oversized belts. So with this newfound love, I went shopping recently and purchased some really chic skinny belts, sort of like this Banana Republic Skinny Metallic Belt, $48. But because I wear my skinny belt at my waist, the end sticks out and flops around - not pretty and definitely not the look I'm going for!

I know what you're thinking: Hollywood Fashion Tape, $7, is meant to tame unruly tops, not belts! But it is handy for so much more. Since the tape is double-sided, simply place a small piece on the inside of the flapping belt strap and stick it along the belt. Voila! The strap stays in place all day long. I wouldn't advise this for belts that are really thick or have beading or fancy adornment. So there you have it: fashion mission accomplished in a cinch!

Great tip and I love that belt!
Great belt! Perfect solution!
Love that belt!
hollywood tape is the best- i use it for everything lol
brilliant!
great idea, i always have that problem!! I just bought a bunch of skinny belts at H&M for $5 each!! that way I can have a bunch of colors
wouldnt regular double sided tape work too? instead of paying seven dollars for this stuff? just a thought...
Nice find! Please let us know how it works. My main concern with this product or regualr double sided tape is that it will ruin the finish.
Good idea! I love this color!
I use good 'ol regular double-sided tape from the hardware store. It's cheaper and you get an entire roll. Also, if you buy the skinny one, it's the perfect width for skinny belts.
Also, toupee tape works really well, which you can get at a beauty supply store.
Double-sided tape also works just as well!
i use clear mini rubber bands, it's always worked for meeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee! maybe i'll give this a try, my rubber bandies slip off some belts.
xoxo
What a fab idea! I just got this fashion tape for my bday!
Oh my goodness, I use this Hollywood tape for EVERYTHING. I work as a receptionist, so I'm always using it on my tops so that no one gets a free peek while they're looking down at me.
ohh thank you for the tip!!! it's godsend cuz i bought a few skinny belts and i have only been able to wear them at my hip instead of my waist(where i want to wear them in the first palce)im already regular user of this hollywood tape but i never thought of use it with my belts! thank you fabsugar!
what a great idea. the clear rubber band is genius, too. for black or brown belts, i've always just used a bobby pin to hold the extra length in place, especially for my belts that are woven, because you can weave the pin through it and hide it.
love the belt
Hollywood Fashion Tape is AMAZING. I'm wearing 3 strips today.. to keep my sliding shirt in place. It works on everything!!
Great idea!
Did we steal the blog post title from SATC when Richard gives Samantha her gifts? In that ep with the Chanel wallet?
Fab solution! And keep rockin' that cute belt!
Thank you Fab for this post! I've been wondering what to do about the same problem!
great idea thanks! I have a skinny belt that has just been sitting inthe closet!
That is a great idea!! I am definitely going to do that whenever I wear belts.
thanks for the tip!
I find Hollywood Fashion Tape rather expensive; I found this Company hairtape.net manufactures it so sells it at discounted prices. Lots more on website
