Returns can be a pain so I prefer to order from a catalog that has a retail store nearby, that way I can always just drop the item off if it doesn't work out.
i flip through catalogs but i would never buy from one....i don't like to for some reason. if i want to buy an item i will go to the store or on to their website. never a catalog.
I buy via internet and catalogs regularly. It's so much easier than driving around from store to store trying to find what you're looking for. I buy mostly non-clothing items though.
I love to read catalogues, but if I do order from the company, it's through their website. Just received my APC catalogue last night and spent a fair while pouring over their new collection.

growing up we didn't have any clothing stores where I am from so everything came out of catalogs. I really enjoy looking through them now for outfit ideas so I have a constant flow of my
favorite companies. However now that I live in the "big city" and there is a mall within walking distance I only occasionally order out of them.
