When I came across this Alexander Wang T-Shirt Dress ($395), it immediately went on my must list. I love the contrast between the slouchy top and the curve-hugging skirt, paired together forming one perfect design. It's an effortless dress-it-up, dress-it-down mini. The only snag — splurge city. Not to be discouraged, I went in search of something cheaper, but just as Fab.

Forever 21's Elastic Waist Colorblock Dress ($16) fits the bill. It has the same silhouette and feel as Wang's shirt dress — with a major discount. Now, there's room in the budget for some slick stilettos.

I USED to love that dress. USED to. Have you tried it on? I bought it--blindly--- without trying it on. As soon as I got home to go out that night I tried on the dress and to my DISMAY it fit horribly and the quality/draping of the shirt part of the dress was not pretty. And I'm a size 2!!! Said dress was promptly returned the next day. Phewww--- Thank goodness for return policies and refunds!
