Mommyhood has done Angelina some good! Besides affecting her behavior, it has also worked wonders for her wardrobe. I do think she often dresses too old for her age, but it sure beats her old goth and defiant self. She's traded leather for cashmere, baggy pants for pencil skirts, masculine boots for feminine flats. But most importantly, she's traded trashy for refined. Is it because she has adapted her style as a multi-tasking mommy? Or has she simply grown up and gotten sophisticated with age? Let's compare 1999 and present day for clues...

| Top: The old Angelina said no to bras and yes to ill-fitting tops. Cringe! She should really give that hideous coat back to the cast of Lord of the Rings. Bottom: A leather mini skirt a la Accessories: Because she wasn't very feminine, she doesn't even have a purse or |
Top: Mommy Angelina is wearing a form fitting cashmere sweater in a classic bold color; she is polished and chic.
Bottom: A gray pencil skirt is the ultimate sign of sophistication and she wears it well. She flaunts her slim legs. Accessories: The cream bag is mature and the nude flats are very mommy-appropriate. The aviator sunnies and diamond stud earrings round out the classy look perfectly. |

i think her style is pretty boring.
1As a fellow mom, I think she looks amazing! Now is the time when she has the least amount of time to put a look together. That's why going with the classics is a good idea for a busy mom. Angry twenty-something was an ok look for her then, now she looks great!
2I love that she has evolved into a classy, sophisticated Mother.
3Some of the changes are due to Brad's influence too...He's usually well dressed. Her deal with St. John knits may also have helped her more mature look.
4motherhood definitely suits her, shes looks like a completely different person, in a good way.
5I agree with you NMM. I love her nude flats. Anyone know where they're from?
6I think it's probably a bit of both, but I agree with Fab that she frequently dresses too old for her actual age. There's refined and sophisticated and then there's just plain dull and boring. She's so stunning that she could easily knock the ball out of the park in the style stakes if she just added one brave or quirky or individual element to her outfits. You can't really fault the outfit above, or anything she wears for that matter, but it wouldn't look abnormal on a 60 year old schoolteacher either, and that's not a good thing, mother or not!
7I don't love what she's wearing in the old picture, but I kinda miss the edgy Angelina.
8I always ike her evolving style although I don't like that long coat on her
9she was sooo white before.. she looks
10like she has some life in her now.. she's glowing!
yeah she can dress a little old but i still
think she looks gorgeous!
She's really beautiful either way.
11Wow what a difference! (For the better)
12She's not a good dresser but because it's Angelina people think it's amazing. I find there is something always wrong with her outfit, it's either ill-fitting see skirt above or her hair isn't right or the shoes are a total clash etc.
13very good improvement I see....I don't think she has to dress too trendy or flashy...she's a mom AND has a partner..
14I miss the old Angelina.
15Angelina is still a fashion victim in my book. Besides dressing too old for her age, she relies too heavily on name brand assessories (mainly sunglasses and handbags) for flair. She needs to do more with color and change her hair. Someone should get her to trade in her black for a more stylish navy.
16Being a mom should not make you become a frump. My mom is a grandma and while she doesn't do the trendy thing she never ever looks frumpy, she totally rock the crap out of a pencil skirt and heels
17While I'm not a fan of this particular outfit, I do think her style now is great. I miss the old AJ too, but when she was rocking all that black I was rocking hippie skirts & Birkies & sun dresses over jeans w/ a huge sweater to top it all off. We all grow up eventually!
18i think she looks totally chic & sophisticated. i don't think her look is "too old" at all. she has a more mature personality than other people here age (tara reid), so she dresses to suit her personality. so she's not cutting edge & trendy. who cares?

her nude ballerinas are by Pedro Garcia....
They're a little more pinky/peachy in real life. I love them (and the leather is soooo incredibly soft!) but they were too rich for my blood ($325USD plus tax) so the search for a replica is on...siiiigh
20Thank goodness she evolved away from the old look. Growth is good and she seems to get that when she's taking her son to the bookstore that's a good time to not show her boobs. Keep them holstered until date night or the red carpet. When you don't let your look mature you end up looking like a tired and old version of yourself. Think Pam Anderson.
21i've never been a fan of angelina, but i do prefer her "new" look to the old one. it's much easier on the eyes.
22I think Angelina did the right thing by rocking the edgy look back in her 20s. Now that she's a mother of 4 she's become more sophisticated in her dress choices. Sure, they seem a little boring, but after trying to organize and get 4 kids ready for the day I doubt she cares much how polished or trendy she looks.
23What I like about her style is that she doesn't dress as if every day is a fashion show, but she still often manages to look well put together. She tends to wear pieces that I could see in my wardrobe and I'm pretty much totally uninterested in fashion.
24her style is uninterestinng very boring and frumpy...and even though she doesnt have to dress like everyday is a fashion show she can still dress with some style! the only time she has some style is on the red carpet when designers send them dresses! PERIOD!........other times she aint got one clue!!
25she's definitely changed her style a lot.
26i like her better now, she's aged very well.
but you can def. see her original ways influenced
on maddox.
I personally think she's doing the mature look on purpose. I don't think she wants the bombshell attention all the time, especially with her children around. So she looks good, put together, classy. Nothing flashy or over the top. I think she's awesome and beautiful no matter what.
27She has always been a bombshell, this black leather skirt was just one outfit (don't forget it was the late 90's when pretty much anything went). What about the nude sequin and bejeweled Randolph Duke she wore when she won the Golden Globe for Gia????
28Ugh. The old picture is a bad one...she wore some pretty terrific things back in the day. She had her bad days too, yes, but don't we all. I find her current style ostentatiously matronly, like she's trying to prove a point by being dowdy.
29she is so f*cking fake it makes me sick.
30She's also lost about 20lbs... If it weren't for incredibly enormous boobs and lips, she'd look unacceptably emaciated.
31I love her sunglasses! Anyone know what make/model they are?!

33I definitely like the direction in which her style is evolving, too (at least judging by the pictures). Some of the comments are true; what she's wearing can be pretty boring, but on HER, they just look classy and elegant. It's actually pretty amazing, given her crazy schedule, how well-groomed she always looks. (like Gwen Stefani =)) If I could be a mum and look a quarter as good as either of them, I'd be pretty stoked.
34Motherhood definitely suits Angie, as well as the goth image she had back in the day. I think her new style goes with this new period in her life. I like it. Yes, it can be boring but it's well-groomed and classic. She does not need to be flashy, Angie herself is already going to get attention.
And it's not like I really look to Angie as some type of fashion icon, I like her for other things.
35she's bad ass either way. big angie fan
36You're right! She looks so much better now.
37"Not feminine" is a fashion problem? What would you say about Katharine Hepburn, Marlene Dietrich, or Diane Keaton?
I remember the Angelina of the mid-90s being the hottest techno-goth babe around -- she was smart, she was real, and she wasn't going to take anyone's crap. The "masculinity" you're inferring is just her being tough and making her own rules -- the same qualities that make her so successful in her career and motherhood now.
With all of the floaty style apparent in women's fashion these days, we have to remember that being ethereal does not equate to being weak of personality.
38I love her look. It's classic and smart. I love handbags and notice she's carrying a botkier sasha duffle in cream. Angie thanks for showing that you don't have to be a slave to one style.
39Oh my, thank god for children.
40I just think that her style has evolved as she's gotten older. To be fair, the picture on the left is from the 90's!
