You may recognize the last name of Model of the Week Lydia Hearst from the magazine company, the castle and, of course, from her great-grandfather, William Randolph Hearst. But Lydia is more than an heiress. She is a model, an activist, a philanthropist, a socialite and a designer of sorts - she is coming out with a Puma Lydia Handbag in November.
She was born on September 19, 1984, as Lydia Marie Hearst Shaw in Wilton, CT. She always loved fashion and makeup so a modeling career was something that suited her passions. Lydia first got her start in modeling with Ford Models and is currently with ONE Model Management.
She has been a part of big campaigns for Prada, Louis Vuitton, Alexander McQueen, Moschino Cheap & Chic, DKNY, Bottega Veneta, Heatherette, Neiman Marcus, PUMA, Saks Fifth Avenue, Jovovich-Hawk, and Roberto Cavalli for H&M.
She has also appeared on the covers of many magazines like Avenue, Hellas and L'Uomo Vogue, New York Magazine, Marie Claire Japan, BON, Flaunt and Nylon.

What is the most memorable show you walked in?
Chanel Haute Couture.
If your house was burning down and you could only save one clothing item, what would it be and why?
My photo albums. Clothing is just materialistic. I love fashion, it's what I do, but it doesn't define me. Memories are irreplaceable.
What is one destination you still need a stamp for on your passport?
Prague.
Who are your favorite designers?
Phillip Lim, Chanel, Marchesa, Dries Van Noten, Heatherette, Gap and Puma.
What are three words that describe your personal style?
Eclectic, sophisticated, edgy. There is no such thing as bad fashion; it is all a form of self-expression.

she kind of looks like debra messing
1There's something about her modelling that I find to be very unnatural and somewhat awkward...
That being said, I like some of the opinions she expressed in this interview (no such thing as bad fashion, self-expression, etc.)
2i think she is lovely..
3She is a little strange looking, but in a modely way...
4I think she looks great. FYI, William Randolph Hearst is her great-grandfather, not her grandfather.
5fashiontoronto yeah i think the reason why it looks unnatural because of her whole last name thing, like she has to push boundaries to be seen as a model not just a heiress/socialite.
but i think she's gorgeous and seems to have more going for her than her looks and money. i really ennjoy her answers expecially about no such thing as bad fashion.
6Interesting theory pinkflats, I think you may be on to something there...
Also just to clarify, she is indeed a very beautiful girl, and the 'awkwardness' I previously referred to really works in her favour in some shots (case in point: Prada adverts).
7I loved her comment that she would save her photos. Clothing doesn't define me....memories are irreplaceable!
8she looks like a new j.crew model.. a little older in the face though.
9Gorgeous!
10I think shes very pretty!
11Working w/ a marketing agency that handles clients mostly from the fashion industry, maybe I'm biased to "certain looks " of models. I don't think her face has an X-factor. She's of course beautiful but not all beautiful girls possess that "X-factor" that makes a model striking "supermodel" material---but that's only my opinion.
12i have always loved her face, but i never really see her in editorials or runway, only occasionally, it's a waste, but i guess she's up to other things.
i like that she sounds like she is living her life to the fullest instead of just being rich and pretty. i respect that a lot.
13She's odd looking which I absolutely love.
14Just an average model, in my opinion. Doesn't deserve any press. And this is a seriously bad pic of her.
15i agree exactly with lucyS. she doesn't look quite right, but i really like that. maybe it's the jaw ... but Nessyliz is right, too, the main photo doesn't do her justice, as compared with some of the others.
16Lovely hair and skin but she is a quite bit funny-looking.
17I think her interview comes across as very down to earth
