Jonathan Antin—star of the reality show Blowout and creator of the fabulous Dirt Texturizing Paste—feels very strongly about water. Throughout his two-decade career styling the hair of celebrities, models, and other clients, he has observed that hair is extremely affected by the quality of the water in which it is washed. Pure, filtered spring water creates softer, shinier, and more manageable hair, while water full of chemicals often makes your locks dry and brittle. He has even suggested that his clients rinse their hair with bottled water before an important photo shoot.
To that end, the hair guru has released the Jonathan Beauty Water Shower Purification System, which helps balance out water to keep it free of chlorine and heavy metals and make your hair shiny and healthy. The high-grade water filter is easy to install and fits right onto your shower head; each filter lasts anywhere from three to six months. Buy it here for $95.

Pad was just talking about this the other day! Hmm...I may be sold here.
I wouldn't pay $95, though. I have one that I got for $39.99, the filters last the same and are like $23. And it does EXACTLY the same thing as the Antin one and is smaller and less obtrusive on the shower head arm.
haha i remember when he was thinking of doing this. He had washed his hair with bottled water and he couldnt remember the last time his hair was that "bangin" all from using bottled water. Its expensive but its a good idea. I hate hard water.
Hey Pad - so where do I get the cheaper version?? Agreed that I want my hair to be 'bangin', but don't want to pay the C note price tag....
Shower filters have been around for YEARS. Jonathan didn't invent it, he just found a way to make it twice as expensive as one without his name on it.
so where'd you get your pad?
*yours, Pad
I can't post the link
ah shucks! oh well, my husband would probably think that's a ridiculous thing to spend money on anyway...
I PMed you where I got mine. But I swear by the shower filter. It makes my hair fuller and shinier and helps prevents flakes.
Actually, purplesugar, if your water is at all chlorinated and you like fairly hot showers, you could be breathing in chlorine gas!
really? what does that do to you? ...that may be a stupid question, but I don't know...
Supposedly over time, it can harm you. I don't know. I showered for years without a filter and I don't think there are any ill effects. So, I'm just giving you an excuse to get a filter that really does help make your shinier! It worked on my husband.
i want the link to the inexpensive one, i saw this one @ sephora.com, and i thought it was way too pricey, even if my husband said buy it if you want, i thought the filters were too much also.
