I let a friend borrow a lovely ruffled jacket I have, much like this Max Mara Ruffle Front Jacket, $890. Big mistake! Somehow she got gum on the sleeve, which is a mystery because she wasn't chewing gum the entire night (yeah right!). Naturally, I freaked out, but she remained calm. Yes, you are staring at a piece of ice. My smarty pants friend took one cube and rubbed it on the gum-infested area until the ice had practically melted and the gum had come off. It's hard to tell how long the process takes but if this happens to you, rub the ice on the gum and scratch it off until it disappears. It's labor intensive but worth it if you want to salvage your clothing! Please be mindful of sensitive fabrics like suede and silk.

3They tried this on The Simpsons to get gum out of Lisa's hair and it didn't work. But, then again, that's a cartoon. So I'll have to use this if I ever get gum on some of my clothes!
4Works on skin too. I remember getting gum all over my hands as a kid and my Mom used ice to get it off of me.
5If the clothes are to sensitive to get water on it from melting ice cube, you can put your clothes in plastic bag and put it in freezer. Leave it there over night and in the morning the gum just falls off, so you don't need to scratch it or damage clothes in any way.
6And if you have gum in your hair, use nail polish remover. Put a little amount on cotton pad and rub the gum off from the root to the end, not the other way or you'll stick the gum on scalp.

9Oh, thanks! I just noticed some gum,candy like substance on my swing jacket that has been on the back seat of my car all Summer. I truly have no I idea where it came from since I don't even chew gum! Anyways, I was thinking I would have to get it cleaned before the cooler weather rules in. I'll try the ice first.

11Once the same thing happened to me except it was on the back on my favorite jacket. I just used a little soap and rubbed with my finger- the gum almost completely disintegrated. The rest just peeled off. I guess that doesn't work too well on dry clean only.
