Last night's Project Runway challenge wasn't necessarily the hardest, but it was the most pressure-filled. It was the last stop before Bryant Park — the remaining five designers were asked to create a look inspired by the Getty Museum in LA. Art, architecture, nature, and furniture all provided fodder for their work. I wasn't blown away by any of the looks, but in the end, Carol Hannah, Irina, and Althea won. Christopher and Gordana were sent home. Do you approve of the final three? Do they have the chops to blow us away at New York Fashion Week? They are clearly the best of the remaining bunch (Ra'Mon was my favorite, but went home early). Irina in particular is very skilled. But compared to the Christian Siriano / Chris March season, the designs are totally underwhelming. So are the personalities.
1Irena will win, my prediction. She can be annoying but she has consistent throughout.
2I just REALLY did not like Irena's dress last night. Nina was right - the length was so old ladyish!
3The final 3 are the most consistent. But how exciting and unpredictable would it be if Ra'mon or Nicolas made it to top 3?
4that dress on the far left is beautiful. and I love the skirt of the thing in the middle. But that dress on the right REALLY leaves something to be desired.
5I'm with Hocky Princess. We'd waited so long for this season of Project Runway and it turned out to be pretty boring. No real standout characters (that lasted until the end anyway) and it seemed like every week's winning design was in some blah neutral. The top three gals have skills, for sure, but I hope their runway shows are more provokotive than what we've seen from them so far.
6agreed. Snooze of a season, sure there's a talent, but even the loyalty to the models, there was no drama. Irina's mean, but eh....not a fan of meanness.
7enough with wanting drama! isn't the fashion entertaining enough?! to me; I hate stupid drama, especially when it is mostly fake and convoluted; I found this season just fine. I will agree that Christian was very entertaining to watch, but that was because HE is such an interesting and over-the-top, fun personality; not because of some stupid drama. but that's just my opinion.
8as for the final three; I definitely agreed with the results; I just still wonder what was the point of the last challenge? of course I would have been very disgruntled if Irina or Althea had been sent home for their poor designs, but if the final three was going to be decided off each designer's record (as it should); then why even do that last challenge? ironically; Irina had the best dress (in my opinion, at least) and yet I do agree that she should have been sent home...
also; isn't it usually a final 4? not that I think it really matters either way but I just wonder why the change...

11This batch can't compare to previous designers on the show. Gack. Ugly results for the "big" challenge.
12This year's contestants are much weaker than previous years.
13this season was just so BLAH. nobody had any vision that was out of the ordinary, or new and exciting. so underwhelmed i cant even begin to explain.
i loathe irina. they are right to point out that carol hannah hasn't made anything but dresses (how on earth hasn't she been critiised for this?), and althea.. we'll see what she does.
14This season was just disappointing. They are talented but really nothing blew me away. I'm not even that excited to see the finale. Guess Christian and Chris are a tough act to follow.
15I cant help but think maybe the magic was lost in the editing. Ever since they changed networks the filming of the actual fashion show has really gone down hill. Sometimes they don't even show the whole garment when its on the runway! SO ANNOYING! I also think the most talented designers were voted off early in the show. I dont know what Heidi and Nina see but it must not show as well on TV b/c I seriously doubt their winner picks this season.
