Upon walking to work today, I noticed a very stylish girl wearing a camel coat, skinny black jeans, and booties. At first glance, it didn't look like anything to ogle over, but something about her outfit was extra special — a-ha! It was her short sleeve coat. See, she layered a pretty semi-sheer black chiffon blouse underneath her wool jacket for a cool textural effect, and of course, added warmth. I like it!

I have a short-sleeve trench and LOOOOVE it. Too cold right now for it but I always get compliments when I wear it in spring/summer/fall.
1I like the look, tried it on in store, but it just felt so wrong! I need my long sleeves if I'm gonna wear a coat.
2Nice look but not practical for a Canadian winter.
3I consider nice coats investment pieces, and short sleeves aren't practical enough for the investment.
4I used to love this look too because, like you, Fab, I loved the textural effect. Plus, it's a great practical feature for when you are in a situation where it is too cold to take off your coat but mobility of your arms and hands is needed. However, now I see them and they just look silly - the exact feature that I found so appealing now seems almost childish. I do love that Urban Outfitters coat, though...
5why short sleeves? i mean we're gonna wear this during the winter and we need something long and warm! what we need the short sleeves for?
6I have a coat with normally long sleeves, which could be removed and transformed into half length. Just above the elbow. It is very wearable and nice(Max Mara).I love it!
