Sometimes. Im tall and have a long torso and legs (in proportion) and for the LONGEST time shirts where made for women with shorter torsos so everything was a belly baring shirt on me. It
didnt help that most pants where low rise at that time too. But now that longer lengths are "trendy" shopping for tops is a bit easier.
Jeans are different. I have large hips but a small waist so a lot of jeans gap on me. Thankfully a lot of brands are fixing that problem now My next problem was always finding a pair that was long enough but also fit in the crotch. For
whatever reasons certain jean brands think that if you need a longer inseam then you need a longer crotch area too BUT I finally found a pair of jeans that fit me PERFECTLY- Levis 514 Slim Straight. I love them!!!!
Dresses are also hard because I have to fit my hips and but which means going up in sizes but I have a small chest. So most of my dresses are taken in at the top. Although empire waist
dresses fix this problem sometimes
Ugh, yes...I think it's very hard to find a great pair of jeans And I have trouble with
finding tops and dresses sometimes, cuz I practically have no boobies
it's hard for me to find shirts that fit properly. i'm big, but i have pretty good genes so it doesn't all go to one place. problem with that is i have D cup breasts and if i don't want a
shirt that's 2 sizes too tight, the shirts tend to hang down from the front-most point, if that makes any sense. my tummy is flat ( not bikini-flat, but looks-nice-with-clingy-clothes flat)
so most shirts hang down like t-shirts, when in reality, there's empty space.
i also have a problem with jeans. usually, if they fit at the hips, they're baggy at the back of my knees, like if they were straight down from my hips. for some reason, only boot cut jeans
from old navy do it correctly for my size.
i'm 4'8" so nothing fits. well, tops are easy to find i guess but since i have a short waist and largish hips the tops sort of sit funny. oh, and i stick to short sleeves of course. it is
especially hard to find dress pants that fit as they are usually too wide in the leg
I'm 6"0 tall, a D-Cup and I've got an english size 12 waist, but my hips are size 14. So everything tends to be too tight across the bust, too loose around the waist and too short in the legs
and arms. I tend to make a lot more clothes, especially for special occasions like weddings or stuff when I really want a good fit. Then I can take things in at the waist, take them out at
the bust, and make sure they're long enough in the sleeves and legs.
Yes I have problems with finding jeans or trousers that fit me well, I'm 1,74 so 90% of them are short
oh and with dresses too, I have no boobies so....
i can never find jeans that flatter my J.Lo booty and don't give me a muffin top! I also have large boobs (DD) and it's soooo hard finding a shirt that even fits, especially button up shirts!
i freakin hate that gap between buttons...
I'm in between a petite and a misses size. One's just a tad too short and the other's too long. So I always have to get pants hemmed -- and this extra $$ just gets me every time.
I don't get pant sizes anymore. I am skinny, but def. not anorexic but I rarely can find dress pants that FIT. I am sick of america increasing the pants size to make up for the increase in
obesity. It is silly to get an XXS shirt when it should be cut to be "XS"!!!
i'm with JessNess. I could not find shirts that were long enough for me for the longest time and now almost everything fits perfectly since carriers like Express started carrying tall.
It really depends on the brand I think. I'm mostly a XS/S in tops, but sometimes brands run a little big (like Old Navy) and even an XS is a bit large on me. Sometimes an XS is too
tight...and I have a short torso so I can't wear short shirts or I look really stubby. If I buy a tshirt type shirt, it HAS to be long enough to hit my hips, to create the illusion that I
have a long torso/ribcage area lol. That's why I love american apparel tshirts..they do that XD
I don't mind wearing clothes that are a bit baggy on me though~ it's kinda of a trend these days, esp with wide legged pants and bubble hemmed tops and such.
i am the opposite of a pear and it is so difficult to buy pants/jeans..i have a wider waist with no butt so if i buy something with a bigger waist, the butt area is also big--no one looks
good with a saggy bottom.
I say if you find a line of jeans that are tried and true, they are pretty dependable. Express jeans seem to work the best on me, as long as I can find the long version of the ones I want.
Nearly six feet tall, with a tiny waist with bigger hips and long arms. I get my dress shirts tailored, my dress pants taken down and my sleeves taken down on my coats. Maxwell, based in Hong
Kong, comes to Toronto once or twice a year and I get 100% cotton dress shirts made.
Ironically, I find designer jeans to be cut better for my body. *Eye roll* There goes my budget.
I have a lot of the same problems you girls do (big boobs, small waist, big hips) but I really don't have many problems! I guess I'm pretty lucky! I must complain about the boobs thing
though, I have D (sometimes DD) boobs but I'm skinny so shirts are either a little too tight or make me look fat (because the excess fabric around the stomach just hangs there). I've had the
same body since 10th grade (yes I had a D cup in 10th grade) so I really know how to shop for it, maybe that's why I have so much luck - I don't bother trying on things I know won't fit!
I agree with Shop_Oholic. I hate that every year or so, despite me weighing the same and having the exact same measurements I can no longer find a pair of pants that fit me because the size I
wore last year is now a size larger and they don't have my true size any longer (well, except for on their website, but yeah right would I buy a pair of pants before trying them on).
I like that designer denim goes by waist size. You're waist is 24 inches and you wear a size 24. All pants should be sized this way.
I'm 5'8" which is not really tall but my legs are super long in proportion to the rest of my body. How awful, right? Shopping for non-designer jeans and pants is horrible because they are
almost always too short! Alim pants look ok even if they are a little shorter but the new wide legs look ridiculous.
I'm short (5') and pretty small, but have hips and a butt so I abhor looking for jeans. really. when I find a pair that work and aren't crazy expensive (hello banana republic petite) I buy
them weather they're on sale on not (which is really saying something cause I don't buy much of anything at full price.
Tops are pretty easy, but sleeves can be a little long sometimes. The whole babydoll dress phenom is annoying because those types of shapeless dresses just make me look shorter - and I don't
need any help with that.
I often end up making alterations on my new clothing purchases. Lots of hemming pants and skirts, nipping in waists, and tucking down pockets. A bit of work, but well worth it.
Sometimes it is difficult to find pants that fit over my butt and thighs but still fit at my waist - Gap curvy jeans have it down to a science, it's great.
Also, I have a long torso, so finding tops that are long enough can be a challenge as well.
I have the problem of not knowing where i can shop. I'm 5'8" and a size 11/12 with a 38D top. Its impossible to shop anywhere...i am so inbetween the sizes out there...too big for the
"regular" sizes in stores and too small for the big girl stores. I do love old navy...they carry soooo many sizes and shapes. At most stores I always have to buy XL tops which they never seem
to have and i cant wear button up shirts to save my life!! That damn gap in the buttons makes it impossible and my shoulders are so broad i cant get a good fit and its always tight. They need
an inbetween store for us inbetweeners!!! I'm not fat and im not skinny....so what am i then?
I'm 5'3, so it's hard to find skirts or pants. Everything has to be hemmed. My waist is smaller than my hips too, so I find gapping a lot. All this leads to a lot of tailoring and money,
which is why I've decided to learn how to sew. Also what is with sizing lately? I was in Banana Republic and the zeros were too big; a few hours later I went and tried on some clothes at a
boutique and I ranged from a 4 to a zero. Why do they vary so much?
I'm 5'1 - Not everyone makes clothing for petites
Then that means I have to take clothes to the dry cleaners to get them hemmed/tailored..
Then finding dress is a pain because I'm wider on top then the bottom so things may fit well on top and then..the bottom looks like a huge nasty drape..
I have THE worst time finding things that fit me correctly that are age-appropriate (too young or too old!) so much so that my wardrobe has not been updated in at least 4 years.
I found really good/helpful information from the following link:
i always have to have my pants altered (i'm only 5'4) and i have small boobies (lol) with broad shoulders so it's pretty hard to find tops that fit...but after a lot of shopping, I've figured
out which brands work for me. It's tough to try something new though...
Doesn't everyone? Clothing manufacturers make clothes based on set proportions. Naturally, everyone is going to be a little different in some form or fashion.
I'm short with proportionally long legs. So, I am usually too long-legged for petite pants, but too short for regular length. Toss in the fact that I'm overweight and it becomes a struggle to
find cute things in my size.
I struggle with pants most often than other items. I have had problems with coats being too boxy or long or large, but that's a problem a belt can fix!
I hate it because I have big boobs and a tiny waist so everything is either too tight on my boobs or too baggy at my waist. also I'm short so finding something in proportion is hard.
I'm 5'10'' and weight-wise around 175. Thankfully the weight is distributed so I don't look too heavy, but I still have trouble finding clothes that fit well AND look cute.
The issue that I have is that so many stores have a different definition of what a certain size IS. Some have tiny little jeans that they pass off as size 14, and some 14 jeans are hee-uge.
If it were more consistant, no matter where I shopped, I'd have a muh easier time.
I do love that the plus-size shops out there are coming out of hiding and celebrating the bigger sizes - I'm just barely teetering on the plus-size line, but I still appreciate it so much
when a store goes out of it's way to provide fresh, funky clothes that happen to be bigger than mainstream sizes. For someone not even 20, like me, this is so important to self-image when
shopping.
I'm enjoying reading the comments and results - good poll, Fab!
I usually don't have too much of a problem finding clothes that fit, however I small so when it comes to jeans it's sometimes difficult to find size 24/25 on the rack. I don't even want to
get started on my chest. Most tops in xs aren't made for c-cups. It gets annoying.

Rachel Zoe was photographed walking down Robertson, Starbucks in hand, looking ready for some serious shopping. She looked chic in her round sunglasses and Chanel bag, which she wore with of-the-moment thigh-high boots, a denim Current/Elliott biker jacket, and printed scarf.
Basically every single time! It´s so annoying! I´m always too small! I wish I was fatter...

16I'm a pretty tiny girl, but try finding a shirt that fits a 32D...yea it's not too fun!
I'm a pear....buying pants is the worst.
17Yes same here, pear shaped. I often have to take them in on the waist where the darts meet.
18It really depends on the brand I think. I'm mostly a XS/S in tops, but sometimes brands run a little big (like Old Navy) and even an XS is a bit large on me. 19I personally haven't done a good shopping trip in a while, but now I'm too fat for the sizes that I'm used to buying.
20yes i have such trouble! i have bigger hips than i do waist so it is very hard to find pants that fit w/ out showing the whole world my butt crack!
