There is one thing that I think of when October rolls around: Halloween! It makes sense for the Fab favorite holiday to be the holiday where you are required to dress up and be someone else for a night right? Halloween is the time to get creative with garb and prove to the world you can be sexy, scary or funny — in excess. Me? I usually go for sexy, since I'm fairly buttoned up the other 364 days of the year. More Halloween inspiration is in the near Fab future, but in the meantime, here are some favorites to get me in cold weather fashion shape.

- So I mentioned I'm fairly buttoned up most of the time, but I do love me some animal prints, and this Banana Republic Silk animal-print top, $48, is a beaut.
- Call them go go boots, call me lover. These Bottega Veneta Patent Boots, $990, are hot and I dig the stacked heel. For days I'm not feeling so retro, a glimpse under some dark denim boot cuts is very Marianne Faithfull.
- I'm sorry, but these Yves Saint Laurent Charlotte Pumps, $495, are fine. In person, they're finer. And all things considered — YSL, fine leather, unique architectural wooden heel — that price is not too exorbitant.
- Nothing says cozy chic like a layering piece such as this Lux Fairisle Sweater Dress, $58.
- I'm not an advocate of leggings, except in times of travel, so these Vince
Side Zipper Pants, $195, are a cool alternative.

the side zipper pants and sweater dress are what caught my eye FIRST!!! hope you get them ALL!
1Those pumps are gorgeous!
2I wonder how comfy they are...
I love the pumps, boots and sweater vest.
3Speaking of October and Fall - does anyone know the origins of the caramel colored double breasted leather jacket that Serena Van der Woodsen is wearing in the pilot of Gossip Girl??? I'd LOVE to find that for my Fall wardrobe!
4I like the side zipper pants
5Damn those pumps are ugly. Everything else is okay... but you got the Halloween-inspired right with those heels... scary as hell!
6I love those pumps... if only I had enough money to buy them now!
7The pumps and boots are GORG!
8I love the zip-up pants. The boots are cool too. I wouldn't be able to pull off all that patent, personally.
9The sweater dress is ok. I hate the shiny boots and the zippered jeans remind me of the 80's. They are like the skinny jeans and not everyone can wear them.
10i l-o-v-e the go go boots , they will look amazing with a short dress
11i have that sweater dress! i hated it when i first saw it but fell in love when i tried it on...love it with the blk tights!
12Love everything but the zip up pants. I do have the Vince leggings, though, and they are fantastic with sweater dresses and tunics (I am against leggings in any way except for an alternative to tights). The Maroon Prada shoe is great, but for a less expensive version, I have the burgandy, quilted pump with a patent black cap toe by BCBGirls at Piperlime (around $100)and it's gorgeous! The wood block heel is fantastic an oh so this fall, but I prefer the Anthropologie "Scene Stealing T-straps with cocoa leather and colbalt blue wood heel for $348.
13I'm not an animal print person, but this top in this color is very cute & chic...so thanks for the tip!
The only thing I like out of any of these is the shape of the pumps toe. The rest of the shoes is ordinary and the rest of the clothes are ordinary..
14True, the shape is ordinary, which is why I went with the quilted one, but the point of this shoe is the wood block heel which is pretty new now and the color, which is great with all the gray this year!
15Sorry...I was thinking of the color on the Prada shoe!
16I love the pants and pumps! I´d definitely buy them if I found them in a (much) less expensive version.
