The season premiere of "Project Runway" may still be seven weeks away (49 days to be exact), but we've got plenty of projects to keep us satisfied. There's "Tim Gunn's Guide to Style," which we're obsessed with, and Heidi Klum's Very Sexy Makeup Collection, and now there's Nina Garcia's book The Little Black Book of Style, on sale for $13 (originally $18). This book, according to Nina, is not "A book of rules. It is a book on style." Just what you would expect from the "Project Runway" judge and ELLE fashion director.
The book itself is the LBD of fashion guides - sophisticated, elegant and timeless. It offers tips on how to: be your own muse (confidence trumps beauty), invest in wardrobe staples (ballet flats, cashmere and diamonds) and "what to wear when" (just say no to sweatsuits on planes). Overall, Nina offers very sage advice for both the savvy shopper and ensembly challenged.

I'll definitely be picking this up. I hate Nina Garcia, but love books like this! Victoria Beckham's was a huge disappointment. :[

1PS - Has anyone read Rachel Zoe's book? I hate her as well, but loved that book!
2I bought this and read it and I LOVE IT! This will be my go to for style confidence from now on.
3I bought this book. Just for a fun thing to read -- always love stuff on style. I really did enjoy reading it. She's got some really solid tips.
4Looks like a good one! May have to get it
5Sounds interesting, I'm going to run out and get it right now!
6I need to get this as well as tims book!
7oh..gotta check it out.
8Ballet flats, cashmere and diamonds? Flats make my feet ache, wool makes me break out in hives, and I hate the look of diamonds! These books always just remind me that there are no such things as truly universal rules.
9I don't know about ballet flats, but cashmere and diamonds have never gone out of style in my opinion.
10I see her name, and all i hear is Heidi Klum saying it
11so going to buy it
12I bought this book, read it and was very disappointed. I didn't learn anything new at all.
So it went back to the store.
